Does everybody agree with this section of the statement We simply cannot comprehend Mr Fisher's statement that he has supposedly been told that there is no room for negotiation or that negotiations have been rejected. If Mr Fisher has been told that, it was certainly not by anyone connected with ACL.

I think somewhere theres an offer, as we know it a final offer, kinda take it or leave it...... Does that mean that section of the statement is correct? I have a feeling it doesn't..... Or have i read all the final offer storys the wrong way???

We know this is becoming so stupid its unreal and the only people who get hurt, confused and lets be honest embarrassed about the situation are the fans!

the trouble is we are in administration and nothing has changed, that can't be right can it???

but ACL told Sky Blue Trust

Negotiations are now at an end, and the Board of CCFC have been duly notified.

and the CT reported

The company which owns the Ricoh Arena has rejected Coventry City’s pleas for fresh negotiations ... But ACL insists it can now only deal directly with the administrator ... The request for talks had been directed personally to Martin Reeves - the council’s chief executive and ACL director. In response, an ACL spokesman said: “We are aware of CCFC Holdings’ correspondence sent to Martin Reeves ... However, as far as ACL is concerned, as far as the Football League is concerned and as far as the FA is concerned, Coventry City Football Club is in administration. Therefore all negotiation can only happen via the football club’s administrator.

Doen't seem to match for me. Now I'm not saying SISU are right here and ACL wrong but I think a lot of people take any statement that comes from SISU as being 100% lies and anything from ACL as 100% truth, IMO the truth lies between the two.

I think the context is important here, This ACL statement relates directly to Fisher's which talks about finding an alternative venue for the start of next season. The earlier ACL statement refers to any long term rent deal or deal to buy the Higgs share. I think ACL are open to a short term mutually beneficial deal to keep football at the Ricoh.

SISU will never recoup the money they put in and stand to lose everything the way they are going. They have this assumption that they can pick the club up, put it somewhere and we will all follow.

Sometimes I think Tim Fisher has watched field of dreams too many times......if you build it they will come. Well guess what........

IF YOU MOVE IT FANS WILL LEAVE (Apart from Grendal as he gets a free seat if it's in Northampton)

The planets will need to be seriously alligned for the both SISU and ACL to actually do anything that improves this sorry situation. What happened to not having the arguments in the press and doing this work behind closed doors then? I thought the administrator was going to at least make things clearer!

They dispute not in order to find or even to seek Truth, but for victory, and to appear the more learned and strenuous upholders of a contrary opinion. Such persons should be avoided by all who have not a good breastplate of patience.

Chiefdave presented a correct view.

Namely that both sides are to blame. The club was dead as soon as it entered the Ricoh so disadvantaged to competitors.

Ultimately of course any new owner wi try and achieve what the current owners have. Namely get ownership of ACL for nothing or a very beneficial arrangement, much better than that on offer.

I support the club. I want the club to own ACL and have a long lease on the ground at a rent simar to Swansea, hull, Doncaster etc. whoever owns the club I want to achieve that.

The amount of backtracking once new owners eventually do come in will be well worth seeing.

Why are you quoting Giordano Bruno?

Is this a reference to your belief that Thorn was one of the best managers the club has had?

More of a reference to a desire to state that ACL and the council do not have the interests of the football club (not SISU) at heart.

Who has the best deal from their council - us, Doncaster, hull, Ipswich or Swansea.

Actually lets make it easy - who has the worst.

ACL and the council do not give a stuff. Sisu made a huge error. They should have refused to pay rent from day one when they were popular and ACL were very vunerable. They would then have won the PR war. They lacked the stomach for the fight until it was too late

If ACL didnt care why have they not evicted the club despite not receiving rent for 12 months?

I don't think there's many opposing CCFC ultimately owning all of ACL and indeed it takes an idiot to see that without it, or at least access to ACL's revenue, the club has a very bleak future. Whoever replaces SISU will have an easy job acquiring the Higgs option since they are desperate to offload it and are asking for relatively little (less than they paid for it if memory serves). The council however will play tricky buggers given their incomprehensible opposition to the club ever getting their stake.

More obfuscation and posturing from TF. And some spin from ACL in response. It doesn't get any better does it and as long as this war of words continues, the chances of a sensible resolution recede further into the distance.

Because they are no other long term tenants. The council are the only council ever to issue a winding up order against the football club.
