So they haven't followed standard business practice this time

Comes to something when a business feels inclined to release a statement on something that should be standard!

To be fair, they only had 9 months to file them

Don't knock them. They're finally getting the hang of doing the things they are supposed to do. If they keep this up Coventry City might actually start next season actually playing in Coventry City

Firstly as standard business practice the Club should be doing this on time so on that basis I am pleased they've managed it.

However a part of me is thrilled, no Transfer Embargo and now the Manager doesn't have the fear of hunting for scraps and can go out and look to improve the squad in the transfer market.

Shock!

Horror!

SISU buck the trend of four successive transfer embargoes.....

I've always filed my accounts on time, but refrained from telling all and sundry what is and always should be 'normal business practice'.

I will look forward to OSB58's expert analysis of the various accounts (Otium, ACL, SBS&L et al) over the coming weeks.

It would have been interesting to see CCFC (Holdings) accounts, as well as ARVO's - s'pose beggars can't be choosers

Still plenty of twists and turns in this sorry saga.

What's wrong with everyone? This is the first time in years that they have told the truth when it is good news. Of course they are going to announce it.

I think the official announcement that we have filed our accounts is even more embarrassing than their pretence around the make believe tin pot shed.

What a joke club we have become.

Thank you sisu and thank you fl.

Surely they only announced it because so many people were wondering if they would or not?

True, but a bit of a circular argument.

People were only wondering if they would, because of our appalling record.

Damned if you do, damned if you don't.

Shouldn't haven't bothered with the statement, we could have then moaned about the lack of a statement..

I think that in the circumstances, it was the correct thing to do to make a statement.

The point is that the circumstances should never have arisen.

I think the mistake they made was that they didn't make this monumental announcement with enough style.

They should have done it by way of video. They could have hired a brass band and had Timmy stood in front of them holding placards, a bit like Bob Dylan in that music video.
The first placard could have said "have we filed the accounts on time" then the drum roll begins from the band reaching a frenzied hive of excitement until Timmy drops the first placard to reveal a second placard that says "yes" at which point the band plays a fanfare.
Then to top it off Joy could enter the scene dressed as a majorette twirling a baton while the band breaks into when the saints come marching in before leading everyone off on the long march to Sixfields.

Of course the bigger story which has gone unnoticed Is the return of Chuba, which due to recent events was a little uncertain.

First post in the thread shows exactly why they have done it though. I agree with you they shouldn't have to release a statement saying they've done it, but many on here have said it won't happen, they'll be an embargo, etc etc, so I can see why they have done so.

I wonder if any club in the country has fans who seemed more concerned with the accounts than the team. As Stu said, they are damned either way.

They didn't really need to anounce it though Torch, OSB would have told us all pretty sharpish!

Well as the statement says "due to growing speculation and comment", which to be fair is true if you read SBT, I think they did the right thing. The club have been attacked for not releasing statements in the past and failing to keep the fans "informed" so again, damned if you do, etc etc.

They've cleared it up, nothing else needs to be said really, no embargo, so good news there.
