At the end of the day Coventry City football club has been cuckooed out of its own city, as a result of a London rugby club now sitting in what was its nest. Few of the people in charge of either establishment (nor the Council 'players' involved) ought to be able to look in the mirror without a sense of shame - though we know many will still just try and point fingers at each other.

They were laughing at people who wanted to bid to buy the Ricoh...

What about the £24m to buy into the matchday revenues?

They are all pricks of the highest order who have played games.

Given council backed acl sought to purchase wasps in early 2012 it’s entirely possible

Maybe my chronology is wrong but acl were council backed due to SISU distress tactics substantiated by JR1?

Acl were the stadium management company put in place by the council and Alan Higgs trust to manage the asset from the very start. So actually not so much backed by council as controlled by council.

Back on topic...

was very noticeable how few kids were there v Wimbledon.

Get that it was a week day, but still. Coventry is already a city with way too many residents supporting other teams. We cant afford to lose another generation

Talk about one hell of a leap, even for you....

that won’t be a problem when we finish 15th due to our injuries to jones, Allen, pask, kelly, allisani, Bartlett etc will it ?

Not sure why you choose to measure our fan base by who is going to play off finals.

Surely it’s the week to week league matches that are more of a barometer. Or we might as well ask where the Wembley lot are again.

It was a school night, my grandsons didn’t go because it would have been 11 before they got home.

Correct, even at the ricoh, by 8 nearly 9 year old wouldn't be coming to night games on a school night ST or not. I'd take him if it was a Friday or in a school holiday, but not a school night.

True, didn't take my lad because it was a school night and he's only 7. Probably would have done the same if we had been at the ricoh.

My old man must’ve raised me terribly then, school in the morning didn’t matter when we were playing at HR midweek. It’s his fault if I was tired. Mum probably didn’t approve.

The same. For the handful of midweek home games a year, I went

Not saying people should do it, it was just very noticeable last week. It hadn’t been that obvious before at any game at the Ricoh

Here’s a question.

Feb 2020, we are fighting for promotion, and so are Sunderland. we play them at the end of Feb.

They sell their maximum away allocation at St Andrews which is probably gonna be something like 6,000+ if they get the whole end, we’ll just give them whatever they want for the cash.

Would people still stay away, knowing that Sunderland would outnumber us at a massive home game, with all the abuse that would bring on us? if I was boycotting I’m not sure I could stand that. I know 30k aren’t suddenly going to turn up but surely even basic pride wouldn’t let that happen... ?

Those who have stopped going after years of holding a season ticket have done so because we're playing out of Coventry. The overwhelming majority won't give a toss if its Sunderland. They just won't go.

Yes, they would. It’s clear what our Birmingham attendances will be on average now. If people aren’t going when weather is ok and we are top of the league, why would they go in the winter....

In my opinion, we have 44 away games, of which, 22 are closer to home with the majority of those having more of our fans than the team travelling even further

I only ever saw that happen twice- Man Utd in 1992/1993 when I witnessed the despicable sight of our fans queuing en masse to tout their own tickets to Man Utd fans, so the West End & most of the ground ended up a sea of red; and 1989/1990 last game when Liverpool had probably just over half of HR, that was because people were disillusioned as we came to the end of the Sillett era and it felt like we were stagnating- both times I hated every second of it, absolutely loathed it.

I’d be willing to bet though if the league positions are the same come Feb there will be a few thousand more go to St Andrews for that game.

God this is grim reading.

I personally don’t agree with or understand abstaining fans; support the team, forget the politics.

I do agree with each to their own and all that, however posters peddling the same boring negative rhetoric need to find another forum.

We’re in Birmingham, we all know we aren’t in Coventry and it isn’t ideal. Yet despite that, we have a good manager, good players and are playing good football. Get behind the team.

some people will go to SA in that scenario, it's a given. Others won't.
And ring of steel simply asked a question he didn't say it was a given that everyone would turn up so I'm not sure what your comment actually means, who are the 'they' that you refer to?

Just the likes of those who think people might have a change of heart because of a particular opponent. Or because the team are doing well. Fine it’s a question, but the thought or assumption must’ve been there that there’s a mass of stay aways who’ll cave in for a feeble reason.

you're so touchy on this subject it's bizarre. You're reading things into posts that aren't there.
We've all supported City for a long time, I think most of us know that we couldn't guarantee an upsurge under any circumstances even if we were in Cov let alone Brum.

my reply to Adge was tongue in cheek, I honestly couldn't give a fuck if people go away games only. The only time it would wind me up is if they start moaning about selling players or budget cuts.
But you are definitely touchy about it!
