A Royal Plea (6 Viewers)

Hope you don't mind me posting here but I'm a Reading fan running a fansite called The Tilehurst End (www.thetilehurstend.co.uk) and we're looking for a Coventry fan to help us with a preview piece ahead of Saturday's game.

We did a similar one with Sheffield United fans recently which you can see here

If anybody fancies answering a few quick questions over email then please let me know by dropping us a quick email. Our email address is thetilehurstend[at]gmail[dot]com and we're on twitter @thetilehurstend

Thanks for any help and hopefully it'll be a good game on Saturday!

Damn! Saw the thread title and thought Wills and Kate wanted a Sky Blue presence at the reception. Put my best brush velvet slacks back in the wardrobe then

I'm sure their nickname used to be something to do with biscuits...I think there was a big biscuit factory there. I lived there for 3 years and it smelt lovely near that end of town. Still, that's probably akin to someone going "Sky Blues? I thought you were called The Bantams!?"

It's odd, I went to a few games at Elm Park but the out-of-town stadium put me off. Yet I bet they don't bemoan its loss like many do Highfield Road-boy was it sloped!

Trivia fact: lame Ricky Gervais movie Cemetery Junction is named after a particularly crummy road in Reading. My missus lived there for a year-there was moss growing in the bath.

Weren't they called 'The Biscuitmen'??:thinking about: Saw us lose to Reading in the Simod Cup semi-final in the late eighties - as I remember it the toilets were little more than a ditch next to the brick wall at the back of the stand.

We were indeed the biscuitmen! due to Huntley and Palmers being one of our biggest factories back in the day. Some of us still yearn for Elm Park, the atmosphere was a lot better then the Madejski, though on reflection it really was a run down 101 year old Stadium and it was time to go!

If a few people want to have a stab at answering the questions below, I'll throw a selection up onto the site Thursday :) thanks for all the help!

1. How would you describe your season so far?

2. You sacked Aidy Boothroyd in March, was it the right time for him to go?

3. Who would you like to see get the job? and where do you think you'll finish next season?

4. You quite controversially signed Marlon King at the start of the season, has he been worth the negative publicity/controversy?

5. Which Sky Blues players should Reading watch out for?

6. Who are you most worried about from Reading?

7. Any tips for Royals fans making the trip?

8. Score predictions.

Cheers lads!

1. How would you describe your season so far?
Quite normal.

2. You sacked Aidy Boothroyd in March, was it the right time for him to go?
Definitely!

3. Who would you like to see get the job?
Anyone who can get the team to play attractive football.

3b. and where do you think you'll finish next season?
Anywhere between 7 and 21 place.

4. You quite controversially signed Marlon King at the start of the season, has he been worth the negative publicity/controversy?
What controversy????

5. Which Sky Blues players should Reading watch out for?
You should start watching out for the 11 in the starting line. Then maybe pay attention to the substitutes as they enter the field.

6. Who are you most worried about from Reading?
The referee.

7. Any tips for Royals fans making the trip?
Buy a lot of pies!

8. Score predictions.
I predict there will be goals.

1. How would you describe your season so far? Disappointing again! We start well like we do every season and then have too much turkey at christmas and plummet down the league.

2. You sacked Aidy Boothroyd in March, was it the right time for him to go? Difficult one this, from an entertainment perspective then definately yes, we were subject to soul destroying football similar to the likes of wimbledon back in the day. AB brought alot to the team but unfortunately didnt seem to have a plan B once teams figured our obvious tactics out. So yes he needed to go, if a team is on the back of a 11 (ish) game streak of not winning then you have to ask questions.

3. Who would you like to see get the job? and where do you think you'll finish next season? Andy Thorn without a doubt, he has breathed new life into the players, then enjoy playing for him and we are now playing very attacking football. Where we will finish depends on who stays and goes, we keep King we will do well, if we dont then we will be back to where we are and potential relegation candidates.

4. You quite controversially signed Marlon King at the start of the season, has he been worth the negative publicity/controversy? In my book, without a doubt. A 20 goal a season striker does not come knocking all of the time, so you need to take these opportunities depite what the papers say. Alot of our own fans were against it from an ethical standpoint however i feel it was a great decision and well done Ady Bothroyd for the coup. We need to keep him, thats the next test.

5. Which Sky Blues players should Reading watch out for? Marlon King without a doubt. Its a shame Mcsheffrey is not playing as he can cause problems.

6. Who are you most worried about from Reading? Shane Long seems to be playing well, saying that Reading are on fire at the moment so i cannot just name one. Out of the playoff candidates, i would prefer Reading to go up however i am obviously hoping for a city win on saturday!

7. Any tips for Royals fans making the trip? Parking can be a nightmare, dont park in the streets as they are all permits and avoid the Wheatsheef pub!!!

8. Score predictions. 1-1 King, Long
