As we're roughly halfway through the season and it's the Xmas break, I thought I'd do a review of the U18s season so far.

Preseason

The U18s played 6 preseason games and were unbeaten with 3 wins and 3 draws.

Wins:
Port Vale (Home, 2-1)
Southampton (Home, 4-3)
Cheltenham Town (Away, 2-0)

Draws:
Walsall (Home, 1-1)
Shrewsbury Town (Away, 2-2)
Queens Park Rangers (Home, 2-2)

Courtney Baker-Richardson scored 7 of the 13 preseason goals. Jordan Forrester scored 3, with James Maddison, Ben Stevenson and George Thomas scoring 1 each.

League

The U18s have played 14 matches so far in the Professional Development League 2 North and have won 5, drawn 5, and lost 4. They currently sit 3rd in the table.

Swansea City (Home, 2-0)

Derby County (Home, 2-2)

A total of 33 goals have been scored by the U18s in the league, with 16 different players getting on the scoresheet. Top scorer is Courtney Baker-Richardson with 6. James Maddison is second with 5, followed by Ryan Quinn, George Thomas and Jordan Shipley on 3 each.

FA Youth Cup

The U18s lost their First Round cup-tie 2-0 away at Crewe Alexandra in November.

First Team Squad Numbers

5 of the U18s received first team squad numbers (and places on the bench) this season. Courtney Baker-Richardson came on to replace Franck Moussa in the 1-1 draw at Hartlepool United in the FA Cup.
