The Club announced last night that they had filed the accounts with Companies House which is great, however as standard business practice the business should be doing this anyways.

Problem being it was brought up in the SCG Meeting on Thursday whether this action would be done on time and many over Social Media have speculated that it might not of been done at all.

So the question itself or rather a two part question:

A) Did you expect the Club to do it?
B) In such times when the Club has been accused of not being transparent is this not something that we can applaud them for and not make a mockery of?

B) Not really - accounts should be filed on time. Like wages should be paid on time.

Last set of accounts may not have been filed on time due to the threat of administration. Some would speculate they didn't file as they planned for liquidation of limited and holdings.
The set before was probably late as sisu may have refused to commit more funds until a strategic plan was agreed - involving an agreement with ccc over the Ricoh.
But again - all speculation on my side.

A) Yes. After all the speculation this year it would have been such a monumental PR disaster not to file them that I wouldn't even expect Sisu to be that stupid.

B) No. Most businesses every year manage to file their accounts on time. Its nothing to be applauded.

The idea that sisu should be applauded for merely doing what they are supposed to do is akin to someone on Jeremy Kyle getting a round of applause for getting a job.

They should not be applauded for something that is standard practice, on the same line, there's no real need for the usual frothy mouthed few to get their knickers in a twist about it being on the club website. Sisu probably felt it was necessary taking into consideration the last few years of non filing.

I see your point Godiva but for many weeks on Twitter I have noticed people mentioning that the Accounts wouldn't be filed and Pressley wouldn't be able to improve his squad under a transfer embargo and so on, yet they're the same people who slander the Club once it's been done.


Of course this is standard business practice but if it was important enough to be brought up in the SCG meeting is it something that needed to be established to the fan base on which the SCG and the many other Supporters Groups it is made up from?

I suppose you will always have the odd few that cannot help themselves, you cannot appease everyone.

Still if it was important enough to be raised via the SCG Meeting it must have been something collectively that most Supporters Trust and coincidentally the fans they represent must have been concerned about enough to ask the question?

Just to add. I haven't read the statement on the club site but have they actually said that they have filed all accounts or just the accounts. Could this mean that otiums accounts have been filed but sbs & l is still outstanding? Meaning the group situation is still unclear. I'm assuming that filing just otiums accounts is enough to miss a transfer embargo as this is to my understanding the football club? Perhaps osb would be kind enough to clarify this for me and any other thickies who don't really understand accounts.

On a personal note. Because I am now suspicious and double guessing everything that sisu do due to the environment that they have created around our club I can't help but feel that there is an ulterior motive behind hitting the dead line for the first time in years. Perhaps if only to gain favour with the fl by showing they can meet dead lines.

When I see them. With all Sisu's different accounts I'm just dubious what will be available particularly after many years of pulling the wool over our eyes.
Don't forget the accounts that matter during the period when somehow the players appearing in Ltd, or was it holdings, will never be seen.

I'm looking forward to the CCFC accounts that don't have SISU name on them.

yes I expected them to submit, the main reason being they seemingly have chosen to liquidate holdings to avoid filling those accounts, there doesn't seem to be any good reason for not submitting this time.

No they don't deserve applauding for it, they have done what is required by law, bully for them, it is a good thing though of course (well not filing would have been a very bad thing) but no they don't deserve criticism for doing it of course.

I've said I think if the football league stick to their rules (which seems very rare these days) we'll likely be in a transfer embargo in the summer but wasn't because of account filling, it was because of ffp.

FFP is checked every month. Sisu injected money as equity before the January transfer window to lift the embargo. Hopefully they injected enough to take us over the summer without a new embargo.

No - it was their statutory duty, to do otherwise breaks the Company Act. See no reason to applaud or mock, other than to simply note that they have been.

Just to clarify this is the first time since the 2009 accounts that they have been filed on time, those 2009 accounts were filed February 2010.

I think it is sad that filing the financials on time is seen as an achievement - says much about how the fans and media view the club and its owners

Cant imagine Companies House would have been too sympathetic to the companies involved or the directors had they not been filed on time. It could have led to personal fines even disqualification as a director. Not filing at all is a criminal offence and could get the company struck off. I think there were plenty of "incentives" applied to meet the deadline this time round

Pretty much as I thought. I expected no filing till after JR.

Note these accounts will not show how much money the club is losing this season and has to be put further into debt, they will only cover the accounting period up to 31/05/2013

Can't recall in the build up or on the day anyone asking will the club release a statement about this.

I think most expected OSB to click the signal on companies house and let people know.

If you can find anyone demanding a statement from the club I will stand corrected.

Just because they have and they announce it doesn't improve their transparency?
Anybody can find out if a company has filed their accounts on time.
