I don’t see how Wycombe are going to stay up barring a host of teams getting points deductions

Can't see the EFL letting all three relegation places (and presumably a few playoff/promotion spots) be decided by points deductions. Even they will realise it will destroy the league's credibility, which is already in the toilet - there'll be some kind of convoluted bailout scenario.

Personally I think it would take a very, very bad season and the fans and / or players turning on MR.

Hard to think of a season where fan pressure would be less relevant to a manager's job security than this one.

Fair point, there won’t be any Robins out chants, but don’t forget the power of social media. Would it influence the powers that be if every tweet, for example, was followed with a stream of angry responses?

The fanbase would still let it be known, one way or another. Hoping it won’t come to that and that the fans remember where we are and where we’ve come from (and who gets the credit
for that), but fans be fans...

Figure I saw for last year was £5.2m, I’d be very surprised if we’ve doubled the wage bill considering the signings we’ve made.

Not just signings, most players I believe had a contractual uplift on promotion, I'd guess at 10-20% on average

Even so, that’s another £1m, remove players who have gone and add in the signings are we really at £10m?

And I doubt we’ll finish significantly behind them.

We are in a league of four probably with Rotherham, Wycombe and Barnsley. All I’d guess of wage budgets around £7/8m, looking at this from a couple of seasons ago it’s fair to assume that even the next lowest is spending at least double that:

Difficult I suppose if it’s felt he will not keep us up and we start to drift away

Kevin Maguire, best number I could find.

Point remains whether it’s £8m or £10m most of the league are closer to £30m

I think he’s referring to the last accounts which is prior to those signings as actually it’s £5.3 m then including pension contributions

Trouble is you often don't just lose one person. You lose a whole management infrastructure. Progress doesnt always go up in a nice trajectory.
As Liveroool and Manchester United have found out in the past - just because you have had success, breaking the mould is not always the remedy.

You don’t think social media influences stuff? I’ll leave it there I think.

Even if we went straight back down, I would still want Robins to be the man to bring us back up. So no, he stays whatever.

As fans, we have to readjust to the feeling of losing regularly, it’s the reality of this season.
