But at the end of me tether as they keep bringing in Gabby bluddy Yorath to gurn and splutter incoherently about f-all relevant.
Pissed off with turning the sound off
Good memories of dashing back from holiday in Norfolk to watch it though.

The thing I remember most about this is my father, who hated to spend money on non-essentials, splurged on a new colour TV just for this event.
Until then we'd only had black and white TVs.
I also remember he had no idea how to adjust the colours (it was a manual process in those days), so the grass was extra green and England's shirts extra red.
When an England player ran fast, he left a red trail behind him.
He wouldn't let us kids touch the TV controls in case we 'broke it'.

A combination of the 3 to try and reach accurate representation.

I thought it was shown live in b&w, most of the country only had b&w tv’s.

It was live in b+w on b+w TVs.
It was live in colour on colour TVs.
That colour TV was the most expensive thing my father ever bought, except our house. He never owned a car.
