I think you had a point mate, when people say experience and physicality that can be interpreted lots of ways and some of those interpretations are definitely not what we need.
Yeah, there's a lad I work with, whenever we sign someone he goes on their wikipedia to see how tall they are, like this is some kind of gauge of how good they are. I am 6ft 5"... trust me, height doesn't make you a good footballer!

I'm not here to question both your footballing knowledge but do you not think all teams need experienced players to drag teams over the line, no the little dark secrets of bullying other teams influential players to nullify there treat?
How many times have we seen this done before our very eyes?
Do you not think it's strange that all our last few managers have said the team lacks leaders, men to do the job?
Sometimes teams can benefit from having a less skilled, lump in the middle that will drive the team forward singlehanded especially at league one and two level. It's effective and works, most weeks against us!!
Henderson proved to be a bad signing at the very arse end of his career and was not used to the style of play he needed to be of any effect, as we've said further along he's not quite the type of "lump of a target man" we desire. We mean more a 31 year old tops player who's not been sat in his arse watching soccer Saturday since last January ideally.
When people are saying we need experience And physicality, we mean players in their prime who have been around abit (26-29 years old) and know thr demands of league one - ie in the Vincelot mould. We don't mean the 34+ club that mowbray got obsessed about last season. Of course they have to be good enough, but we have too many 'technical' players and not enough 'gritty' players. Thr blend of thr team and squad is completely wrong.
Slade is right, we don't do the basics well enough and we don't have enough game management know how in the squad.
Currently we've got 19 pts at the half way point of the season...
23 games to go, 51 pts should see us safe based on the last 10 years relegated sides points tally.
<snip>
So we need....
8 wins 7 draws 8 losses
7 wins 10 draws 5 losses
<snip>
I see the above as being the only two likely scenarios, though it's very difficult to imagine us only suffering 5 defeats in half a season.
Every game we lose, increases the percentage of wins or draws we need from the remaining games.
And with our current dismal record, it looks very bleak.
We won't be the only club strengthening in January, they all will be.
There is not much room for error now .....
As fans we had only seen the previous incarnations of such players. I was really happy with Hunt and Henderson, thought their age did bother me, but our management surely had a look at them and must have seen out on the training ground, or speaking to those in the game that they had lost it.
