Funny that the council have said fuck all, probably gutted that we aint moving out of cov

It has nothing to do with them any more. They need to keep out of it & Duggins needs to keep his trap shut.

If SISU are genuine about a new ground (can't see the economics stacking up myself without large additional development associated with a new stadium) then they need to follow proper planning procedures.

I think that is a symptom of people being pissed off with this instability continuing year on year.
My interpretation is that they really want a clear decision & if possible SISU out.
There will be a huge sigh of relief if & when a proper longer term deal is thrashed out.
A huge sigh of relief from the fans who already attend. A quick thumbing through the next chapter of the 'Book of Excuses to not go' for everyone else.

Yeah Duggins keeps banging on about that, their issue was more about buying the land off the council but Duggins (and you it seems) ignored that and just went on and on about Planning.

Hey man I'm on the verge of buying a season ticket next season, just waiting for confirmation that SISU are behaving like adults and cut a longer term deal that brings normality back to the club.

SSN understands negotiations on a one-year extension to the present deal have reached an advanced stage, with a deal possible this week. The EFL have allowed the two sides a month to agree a deal.

Happy with a one year extension, but wish it was 3-5 years; otherwise all this to go through again next year (unless they have grown up talks in the meantime)

Wasps on Ricoh talks
A spokesperson for Wasps Group said: “We can confirm we have started initial discussions with Coventry City FC regarding an extension to their current license agreement to play at the Ricoh Arena.

“There are still a number of issues to resolve and any agreement is subject to contract and the approval of Wasps Holdings Limited Board.

“We are not able to comment any further due to a mutually-signed confidentiality agreement.”

Number of 'issues' that doesnt sound great
It's just face-saving. After being so adamant of no negotiations without a permanent cessation of legals, Wasps have to pretend that actually mattered by mentioning 'issues'.

Similar to SISU mentioning the heads of terms of a groundshare.

Fact is both need each other.

Pathetic, EFL showing they have no cojones once again!

Have Wasps had confirmation about the legals not happening any more now then? They said that's the only time they would open discussions.

Silence from all parties in regards to legals, fook knows whats going on with them

Maybe they will be fully dropped once deal is signed?

Genuine question, what do you want them to do?
Push it back a few days. Why a month? Just being seen as pushovers. They really should be setting a precedent using our situation. I think most parties are aware they can get away with an awful lot.

Setting a precedent for what?

CCFC: We want a 5 year deal, on our existing 100k but with more access to the matchday revenues we generate and you need to replace that pitch with something that doesn't resemble the surface of the moon. We also want the option to host our events at the Ricoh for heavily discounted costs and if you don't agree we're moving to Birmingham.
Wasps: Well. We want a deal for the duration of our leasehold, so the next 245 years, but we're putting the prices up to 350k a season, rising again if you get promoted. Oh and you need to pay for the seats to be changed to yellow and black and to change the posts back after every game. If you don't agree, you can move to Birmingham.

*24 hours later*

Sooooo. A 1 year deal on the same terms for another season?

*Handshakes all around*

*Boddy exits, Eastwood gets his phone out and blocks Boddy again on Whatsapp*

Looking more likely i'll get another 12 months out of my username.

Happy with 1 year, much better than no deal at all and gives time for any of the following:
1 - Agree a longer deal when there is less time pressure
2 - Start plans to build this elusive ground
3 - Wasps go bust, council left with a ground only we want and need to sell it on the cheap

I'm going for option 3 myself

A month because they are representing 71 other clubs and convening a meeting at very short notice is an inconvenience to all of them and a distraction in getting our deal sorted with London Wasps.

David Johnson also giving statements making out it's because of him and the Trust.

It's deluded. He will go back to boycotting because of some made up reason next year anyway.

A deal for one year is better than nothing.

I also think signing a deal for 5 years would be stupid. Who would want to be a slave to Wasps long term?

Don't want to be a slave to them. But a e.g. 3 year deal would give CCFC a bit of planning time to concentrate on football, without the distraction of ground stuff, especially if our owners really have one plan (i.e. hoping Wasps go belly up - which I'd love, but is also putting all eggs in one basket, in terms of strategy)
