I'm sorry i know i've brought this up about 4 times already this season but its driving me mad playing this diamond midfield. The players just can't play it, we are getting destroyed down the flanks by teams, their widemen have so much space and our midfield are getting pulled all over the place.

We went 442 after their 2nd goal yesturday and porbably sorted it at halftime and it solved no end of problems. Its alright the manager saying close ppl now and get in their face but the 2 players on the left and right of the diamond normally have to run 20 yards out the centre to close ppl down.

I want 442 say i want 442

Phew! That's a relief, I thought that was the amount of debt we were in.

I think he definitely got it wrong yesterday. We were never going to be able to out pass Southampton so we should have just started with a flat midfield, Platt and juke up top and played more direct.

Ah, do you remember the good old days when we hated "direct"? Now, it's the only way we get any goals.

Rubbish result yesterday obviously, but the first 20-odd minutes of the second half were bloody great.

fuck me - doesn't anyone actually take any notice of what's happening on the pitch.

We only played the diamond formation for the first 15 minutes yesterday not the whole first half. Thorn changed it to a 451/433 with cody left and sheff right after 15 minutes to try and pack the midfield.

After half time, we switch to a 4231, with thomas in with clingan, and cody in the whole with sheff left and bell right. It wasn't until the introduction of Platt did we go 442.

In fact we never conceded a goal while playing the diamond yesterday. Geez, i'm fed up of hearing about the bloody thing.
