Hope you haven't paid full price for your season ticket next season. I know someone whose managed to get two for £80 each. Also had 4 free tickets for today's game.

I know someone who got his for free.
Anyway, I don't care what I pay if I'm entertained.
The trouble is paying for a ticket when I'm not entertained. Do you know what I mean ?

No I don't and I wouldn't go and watch that rubbish if you paid me. The idea this so called successful club gives tickets at reduced prices with a nod a wink is just bizarre.

Why not just say you don't like rugby so wouldn't go ?
It's a bit childish to say it's rubbish because you don't like it.
Nothing wrong with giving tickets away to bait the right people.

The council has done a good job of pushing these free tickets and promoting the club around the city, shame they never did that for the football club. Hope the steak ciabatta's still up to par.

They have in the past but Sisu make it a little difficult at the moment.
Touch of jealousy there I see at the end?

Didn't we reduce the price at the Crewe game to get over 30000?

Two out of town hedge funds came to Cov.

One has a 'shit' product and is aiming for a sell out. One has a potentially great product and has just seen it's product be further cheapened.

I tend to be more angry at the ones who took a championship team and now have a League 2 team.

Wasps have highlighted the fact that it is possible to have a successful sports team in Coventry- in their case a 'minority sport' that fills the Ricoh occasionally.

The odds were in favour of CCFC doing this. SISU have failed and I cannot be bothered to blame Wasps or waste my feelings hating them, but I am pissed off with SISU's abysmal failure.

No, it was kept at the same price as all the previous JPT games that season. A decision we all applauded at the time.

I've been to Cov rugby a few times, but it's more about the social side than the sport for me. It's just not the same when a try is scored compared to a goal going in, I would be even less bothered by a wasps try as there is just no connection between them and the city of Coventry. As for the free tickets, I know plenty who go up on a free ticket. Just on another point I heard a little of the build-up to yesterday's game, Clive was talking to somebody who said how great it was to have top class rugby here with this city's rugby team, that's the bit that fucks me off, if I was connected to CRFC I'd be livid.

Regardless how many paid the crowd was officially over 30K.
This City needs a successful Football team and Rugby can retake its place as a poor 2nd place sport.

The current setup ensures that it is very unlikely to ever happen.

If anything yesterday shows you how far behind rugby is. Apparently yesterday was a top of the table clash to decide the league winners.

Was there any sign of that in the city in the week leading up to the game? Compare it to a third tier football club getting to a tinpot cup final.

Interesting dilemma for some that scenario. Imagine if Real Madrid for some bizarre reason relocated to Coventry...wonder how many people would persist in going to see the hometown club & not bother with RM at all?

Yes...but if you are right in that...it was reduced pricing for the competition, had they increased the prices for the semi there would've been uproar wouldn't there?
So he is right - prices were reduced, but for the competition rather than the individual game

I suppose it helps when you have never been to CRFC. Many like me thought they would give it a go and found they actually like it.
Yes it's different but once you understand the team ethic and the rules you can start to appreciate the game.
The downside is watching footballers feign injury and diving, something not associated with rugby. It's made me hate that aspect of football now more than I ever did.
In respect of CRFC have they not seen a surge in crowds since Wasps have arrived?

Yup, that's why we need to be rid of SISU and replace them either with someone who can negotiate an acceptable deal with Wasps or someone with sufficient money to build their own stadium. As it stands CCFC is only the home of mediocrity.

Any deal that was would acceptable to them would still see us at a disadvantage and playing second fiddle. Not sure the council pull agree to a new stadium in the city regardless owner either.

You can't know that, really you must stop projecting your personal world view in the absence of cold hard facts. This may be your opinion, but that is all it is. As far As I can tell SISU negotiated and failed to get a deal they liked that is not necessarily proof that different owner with different objectives couldn't cut an acceptable deal.

What evidence do you have that they would be happy for us to be the number 1 sports team in the city? Why should they offer us such a deal that would allow it?

You're massively deluded and naive.

They don't dive in Rugby but they cheat did I not read something about bloodgate, they poke in the eyes and very rarely would you see a punch thrown in football.

Only if They continue to give out the freebies otherwise the football club will struggle as people have only so much spare cash and unfortunately a lot seem to be turning to this game as for sons reason it's seen as a family day out.

Don't seem to work that way in Leicester ?
Rugby is a family day out but it takes a lot of effort to make it that way.
Unfortunately the tribalism in football prevents it ever getting there.

Not acceptable but still continue, is diving and feigning injury any worse than not walking at cricket or appealing for a Nick that missed by miles.

At top level of Rugby every angle is captured so you can get away with very little. Similarly in top level Cricket everything can be checked.
In top level football diving and feigning injury is allowed and is rarely disciplined.

It could be CCFC ?
..... or in my case it could also be Wasps
Both are applicable in drawing fans from outside Coventry.
