Just like with CCFC, Wasps are not to blame for CRFC's position.

These people ? LOL

Not their current but they will insure that they try to control their future.

Was trying not to use the word followers to often so thought these people would replace it nicely as they can't be fans.

Thanks for the picture. Was it to highlight all the Tigers Colours that can be seen?
Funny around you I can see more green than black.

But there is a very strong argument to say that they are to blame for suppressing CRFC's opportunity to reach the top level.

My daughter bought the tickets for my birthday in the away end.
Very noisy until Wasps won.

Bit like the 30,000 of the 45,000 that went to Wembley then ?

Agree with most of that although I can see advantages for CRFC as well if they have access to Wasp academy players.
Also people may get into rugby through wasps and take in some CRFC games when Wasps are away.
Think positive.

Totally disagree about CRFC, they should steer clear of Wasps as much as they should steer clear of SISU !

It was a raging success, rather sickeningly. They must have made a fortune when you throw in the TV money, the fanzone and advertising etc. The game is being lauded as an all time classic and various independent writers have said the atmosphere was fantastic. There will be no shifting this tribe I'm afraid, SISU fucked over any possible purchase with their pathetic legal threats and the council sold out of spite. The future is bleak for CCFC and I reckon Wasps will target Cov rugby to stop them growing in strength too.

It was a great game, however to be a raging success commercially you'd expect it to be a sell out.

At the moment Wasps show no signs of going after CRFC, indeed they've loaned them a few useful players this season to help out. However if Cov RFC ever get to a position to threaten them then make no mistake, their owners are just as ruthless and cold-blooded as ours, they're just better at it!

And again for all of the hoopla don't forget Wasps are a company that aren't turning an operating profit, still have a £35m debt to service at a high rate of interest, and still have to repay it in full at a set point in time. There is some risk in their model - I wouldn't get too carried away by one almost-full Ricoh for the biggest game they've ever had here.

And I think it's sad that some people don't have a moral code beyond "franchising is OK as long as it doesn't happen to a team that I care about".

Yes I understand and agree with all that.................however potential lenders will view events like that very favourably when Wasps come to borrow more money like they most likely will need to. Sadly they also have a stadium lease and a bright future to point to.

From what I have heard from fans who were there (nearly all Tigers fans as cant find any Wasps fans yet) that it appears all four stand were designated away end as there were that many Tigers fans there.

Be honest. Its nothing to do with franchising, it's to do with loosing the stadium.
Nothing wrong with that but in reality we can't afford to run it yet. Never have.

It's about maximising your takings.
No point selling out a stadium at £5 when you can 90% sell it out at £35.

There will come a point where the success dries up, whether it be in 6 months or 6 years time. Then we will see what the crowds are like, they've barely lost a home match in three years if we had that record we'd have 80,000 trying to cram into the Ricoh every week. Not struggling to sell out the biggest match in there history where the away team have brought about 12k.

In American sports, which are franchised based, they look at a minimum of 25 years as the embedding period as it takes that long to bring through the first generation of fans who have grown up with the club. Look how much rugby has changed in the last 25 years. Things could very easily be very different down the line.

Can you imagine if we had something like a FA Cup quarter final against Leicester and gave them 12K tickets and couldn't sell out our end. We'd be a laughing stock.

It's everything to do with franchising. If Wasps had come here and built their own stadium I still wouldn't go because it would be morally wrong (in my opinion) to do so.

I hear what you're saying mate and it's not unreasonable in itself.

However I'm not convinced that Wasps (or anyone else for that matter short of nation states) can keep rolling debt over in that way and not be punished/abandoned by the market. And again, this is peak Wasps - they've never been in a better place in terms of results, and they're still only averaging 15k or so and making an operating loss.

They may well shine, and everything might work out perfectly for them, but it's not unfair to point out that things can also go the other way. We only need to look at football for examples of how debt-fuelled spending on 'talent' can destroy a team.

That's the best you can come up with? What pathetic rubbish.

I've watched rugby in Cov for a long time, whilst you had no interest in it whatsoever until the franchise arrived and lined your grubby little pockets.

You're an embarassment to yourself with your constant paid-for adverts for Wasps. The worst sort of hypocrite; welcomes one franchise because it makes him a few bob, but cries in his beer if there's even the possibility the CCFC might move away from the Ricoh. Unbelievable.

Life's a bitch.
Everybody cried in their beer when CCFC moved to Northampton.
Next you'll be asking everybody who works for Land Rover to resign.
Concentrate your efforts on asking Sisu why they won't sell instead of picking on the easy targets, some of which don't give a fcku !

If I'm honest Italia, that post is an embarrassment.

People were upset when CCFC went to Northampton, and rightfully so. You and me both. The difference is CCFC came home, Wasps didn't, and you cant see the irony, or gloss over it with ridiculous soundbites like 'lifes a bitch'
If CCFC left Coventry I take it you would just say life's bitch then would you?

Why would people resign from Land Rover, they are a sponsor, they are not Wasps. What a truly ridiculous thing to say. Do you tell everyone not to buy houses as Allsop and Allsopp sponsor CCFC, as you don't like the clubs owners.

Oh and if you are an easy target, and don't give a fcuk, why are you all over the thread like a rash. Seems you care more than you make out.

I came on as my name was mentioned in a post and also because people keep bringing up my income stream in their reasoning. Hence the Land Rover comment.
Also why do we keep attacking Wasps and those attempting to buy the club on here?. Beggars belief that Sisu don't get challenged persistently in posts on here instead. As I said 'easy targets'.
So Wasps home is Wycombe ?

It a Wasps thread, that's why we keep the Wasps crap on here.
SISU get challenged on the CCFC forum. You ought to look at it sometime, rather than just the Wasps stuff.
I am not going to entertain your stupidity of saying Wycombe is Wasps home. I suggest you look at their history. Perhaps you should look at Saracens as a benchmark

Can see nothing on what price Sisu want for the club. Plenty of criticism of Hoffman and Wasps.
So where is Wasps home? Or are they now home ?

Did you miss all the threads where the value of the club, the value of the assets Hoffman has bid for, and the offer it would take to get SISU to accept? There's been plenty of discussion on it.

Not sure why you struggle so much with where Wasps traditional home is. From 1867 - 1923 they played at various London grounds before moving to, and buying, a ground in Sudbury.

In 1996 they moved to Loftus Road. A move which nearly bankrupted the club after they borrowed against the value of the stadium only to later find the valuation was far too high (sound familiar?).

In 2002 they made a temporary move to Wycombe (only a few miles from their traditional Sudbury home) as Fulham moved to Loftus Road. They decided not to return to Loftus Road when Fulham left.

They continually told their fanbase they were searching for a new ground in London before announcing the Ricoh as a done deal in 2014.

Anyone can see that their traditional home is London.
