How is it blatantly unfair? They do get priority because they have been to a home game.

If people feel hard done by that they had to go to the semi final then they need to have a word with themselves then don't they?

Sorry Nick, genuinely mystified by this. Nobody would say that - it's quite simple, tickets for the semi were sold on the basis of a promise that was later dropped. Like I say, it didn't affect me, so why am I going on about it? The reason is that on 8th March there's going to be an internet lottery, and people who have just bought a Swindon ticket without even bothering to turn up will have just as much chance as the people who were there for the (formerly "priority") early Checkatrade games and the semi. In fact they will probably have a better chance, because they will be fucking smartarses who are hell bent on getting a bunch of seats to sell.

I do have season tickets and have secured my seats for Wembley but just like in 87 the club has turned this into a confused shambles. Season ticket holders should have been given 4 tickets each and those with Checkatrade stubs could be second priority along with all other attendees for any other game this season.
Season ticket holders will, in many cases, be giving tickets to distant relatives, the bloke down the gym, pub, allotment or social club that last went to a game at Highfield rd. I missed out in 87 in similar circumstances and have felt bitter about it ever since.

Its not a confused shambles, its quite clear on the ccfc website.

We've average around 8k all season, thr semi final only got 11k, there is little wrong with what they have done and nothing wrong with STs being able to buy 6. I only bought 6 out of a possible 24. If we had been averaging 20k+ and had around 13-14k STs then I would agree with 4. I doubt we are going to sell out anyway. I also agree with Covstu, that cup tickets shouldn't be a priority over league games.

I also missed out in 1987, but unlike the Murphy's, I ain't bitter.

'Half' ? Well if you piss just 50% of genuine fans then it's not good enough is it. Earlier posts about a loyalty system are spot on, there should be a points system based on attendance at home and away matches. This year I would deserve to be bottom of the list for my stance. On other years I would have been in the top 15%. That's life you make your choice and live with it. These are very different times though and in my opinion many have stayed away with absolute justification and the league table and lack of hope backs that up in terms of the reasons.

No, anybody who hasn't been to a home game this season will be laughing about the switch of priorities. Because they can now simply register on the CCFC website and buy a single ticket for Swindon to suddenly appear in the system as a loyal fan. Better still for them, they don't even have to go to the match. Christ.

Anyway, I'm off to Wembley so why do I care?

This is what the club said prior to the Wycombe game

"Season Ticket holders & PSL holders would be given first priority on tickets for the final, followed by JSB Members, Match Package holders and supporters who have attended a previous Checkatrade Trophy game (prior to the semi-final). Following that, those who have attended the semi-final match at the Ricoh Arena would be offered priority on tickets at Wembley, in advance of General Sale. "

So it goes:
STH
MPH - previous Checkatrade
Semi Final
General

The only thing that has changed from that list is previous checkatrade games going down the list. Semi final is still the same priority period and I bet all this bitching isn't by those at Swansea or Brighton is it.

Why would they go to the trouble of building a points system on the chance of a one off? How many people at the start of this year would have said "I best get this ticket on the chance of Wembley and missing out"?

If people have stayed away because they dislike the owners etc then can they really moan about getting a low priority with tickets?

Just as it was quite clear on the CCFC the day before that, but with a completely different set of priorities! So it was a confused shambles - FACT (always wanted to say that in caps on here).

Firstly I don't think it would be much of a problem to an IT company to attach a points system to ticket purchase.
I agree with you on your second paragraph. I don't think they are complaining, I'm certainly not. The complainants are coming from guys who have supported the club this year and the fact that 6 per head of ST holders will indeed mean tickets ending up with non attendees and day trippers ahead of genuine fans.

How do I get myself a ticket to Wembley having not been to a game for a couple of years? I mean with that many already sold & 6 going to every season ticket holder......yikes!

Does it count that I was a season ticket holder from the late 70's until 1992 and then again when we moved to the Ricoh until a few years ago?

I need to get myself a slice of this Coventry City success, it may never happen again.

There are large numbers of Wembley games these days - play offs etc. so every season there 's a fair chance of it, unless you support Coventry City of course And as i said, every club doesn't have to build a points system, they all use pretty much the same software so it would be cost-effective.

And to repeat for the umpteenth time, it's not about people getting a low priority. It's the fact that everyone (other than ST's) is getting the SAME priority with no attempt to distinguish the actual supporters who've been to games.

It wouldn't be that easy to create a points system as it would have to be built up / managed / maintained on the off chance we get a trip to Wembley. We aren't a Liverpool or Man Utd with years long waiting lists so it would be pointless.

Nobody would have given a shit and would have laughed if CCFC had launched a points scheme at the start of the season, who would have bought a ticket for Shrewsbury at home so they could get a ticket to Wembley?

Wembley boycott

Well I now have two reasons not to go #BTeamBoycott & #sisuout.

My principals won't be compromised.

I understand what you are saying and also respect it.
However, I disagree. I won't reconnect until SISU have gone.
I'd love to go to the new Wembley, but sadly I'm making my stand.

I hope that you are just having a laugh with it all after bragging about your principles.

Strange how not so long ago you weren't interested in football and it was Wasps only! That's everything that is wrong with people like you.

Oh God. Both the previous Checkatrade and the Semi were downgraded to the same level as any home ticket, including this Saturday's match! 8th March is effectively "General Sale" IMO.

Talk of a points/honour system are absurd, you cant say something is a confusing shambles and then propose introducing a 19 tier loyalty system.

We are a club scraping around at the bottom of league 1 with the lowest attendances we've had in decades yet people think we should have a reward system on the complete fluke that we get to Wembley for the first time in 30 years.

I quite often see good ideas on this forum but that's just ridiculous. The priority levels have been set and communicated clearly, you may not think its fair but one thing it certainly isn't is confusing.

It doesn't matter what your opinion is that above shows the facts. The only people to move down a sale period are those that have Wycombe tickets. Match tickets have been introduced but they haven't downgraded the priority of those who went to previous checkatrade games - I'm sure fans committed enough to go and watch us play west ham u21 have season tickets anyway.

More fan on fan bullshit.

You'd have thought City fans would have had enough of this crap.

People like you would be happy with the club pulling in 500 in the Conference if it meant only super fans are allowed.

FFS, no City fan is a glory supporter. The last few years have been exceptional in terms of supporting a football club and anyone making any decision is well within their right. Where do you get off gloating over fellow fans?

I'm saying that with more than a hint of irony to show up the ridiculousness of the argument. I'm happy for people coming to the game and reconnecting with the club, it's just when you're told that it's basically immoral to see us play Bury at home are happy to pay to see us at Wembley when the money ends up in the same place.

Let's ignore the fact that you've got those in the wrong order. You are saying that the good news for holders of semi-final tickets is that they are still in the third sale period. But unfortunately almost everyone else is now too! I just don't get how you can possibly argue that they haven't lost their priority??

You do know that we are just about the only team NOT to have been to Wembley in the last 30 years, and that every season there are realistic Wembley places up for grabs in all the Divisions? It doesn't take a fluke, just a good season. The fact we don't tend do those is irrelevant.

I didn't take any extra in the end, just the three for wife, kid, dad. Not every ST holder is going to get six extra tickets. I would imagine they'll be enough left for general sale. However, I do think six per ticket was a little too generous.
