Heard a few clips and quotes on 5Live this morning. JH was asked whether he saw it coming, or whether he had any indication that Louise was in a controlling/coercive relationship with Clifford. There is clearly still a major shortfall in many people's understanding of coercive and controlling domestic violence if those are the only defining characteristics. They noted that there was "gentle criticism" in public and he put her down to her family members on many occasions. They say that reports in the press that there were clear signs of an abusive relationship were not true. Sure, those might not have been indicators of the ability to commit horrific and brutal mass murder, but the relationship was an abusive one, just not in the way they recognised.
