Putting the new CB in straight away (lets assume Hughes or Woolfenden) would piss off either Kith or Bobby, to the point where they want away and we are back to square one looking for another CH. Its a difficult situation.

There is of course a middle ground to Deitys being happy with Perry and Lati and Shmmeees we've fucked it up because we won't sell MvE for a fiver and honestly I'd love to log off for 9 days but I'm totally addicted to seeing if anyone drops transfer news in this thread.
I’m not saying I’d be happy with Perry and KKH I’m simply saying it’s not just Bidwell.

You sign them, and have them wait for the opportunity.

Yes its a 5ft 8 RB.

You for sure thank you partners boyfriend for buying you a lego set to keep you occupied whilst they go upstairs and do "adult things"

It is if his club value him at £12m
So am i correct by this statement in thinking that you are saying that the true value of a player is that which is set by the club which he plays for ?
Again in monetary terms what is cheap?
I am sure that when you originally mentioned the cheap & cheaper lists you didn't define cheap as being "cheap in relation to the sum as bid by Coventry City" and cheaper .

Looks like Brondby got one hell of a deal for Binks based on his performances so far

Think the pace and physicality of that league suits him more than cut and thrust of championship.

He’s raw, certainly on his defensive duties, championship is tough learning school for that.

sometimes best for both to part, think this was that case. No hard feelings.

Whatever they are we've rejected them is hilarious. Why would we accept low ball offers? Other clubs certainly aren't doing us any favours in that regard.

You’re missing my point.

Doug and Dean sit down last season and decide were going to sell Milan. Well first we should see if anyone is out there who might pay £10m for a RB outside the PL and if so what other options are on the market. Basically is this a thing that’s actually going to happen or not? We aren’t taking him to CEX we need an interested buyer and that kind of deal takes months to finalise. If there were no serious buyers sniffing at the start of the summer it’s time for plan B.

But again if we were hanging everything of a big sale why the bids for players? We’ve clearly got money but feel the squad is too big maybe, so why extend Eccles Allen Bidwell and Wilson who are all nowhere near the first team?

It’s shit management decision after shit management decision I’m sorry. An no I don’t accept Lampard just doesn’t want to sign anyone.

Utter nonsense. We have no evidence at all that unless MVE goes we won’t sign anyone else.

We have clearly bid for Hughes and Woolfenden in the last 10 days.

You’re talking to someone who rates Keir Starmer but doesn’t rate what King and more recently Lampard have done.

We will be trying to get people in and people are quite welcome to bookmark this post in the event we don’t sign any centre backs. Woolfenden to be clear is a strong Championship CB, but he’ll only be leaving for playing time. That is the challenge we have if we’re both aiming for quality but also not looking to sell the current first choices.

Folks need to keep their powder dry until September 2nd, you can bitch all you want then. Ipswich will not sell us players on the cheap we are one of their promotion rivals and Parkinson although good at lower level has yet to achieve anything of note other than getting promoted to this league. Buying players is no longer easy unless it's a distressed sale it's now similar to a house purchase, if a player drops out the chain it can't happen unless they're surplus to requirements. We're in good hands at the minute and if FL wants a player he will most probably get one, we want quality not quantity.

BSB shoehorns Starmer in a post shocker.

Following our interest in Woolfenden, I read their local paper and McKenna has described this window as the toughest he has known, and they have bags of money but are struggling to get their targets. It can’t just be ourselves who are finding getting players in difficult

A lot of teams are struggling this window due to a certain two championship teams inflating the market.

Looking around the division, aside from the piss takers at Birmingham and Wrexham I would agree with him. Surprised me a lot that they couldn’t agree a deal with Hackney for example.

Read it again.
So on the contract extension. Thinks it’s fair to assume the contracts had clauses in them.

Allen and Wilson being the two extended and I get both tbh. Especially as Allen is often a dependable backup when we at times struggle with injuries in midfield.

On MVE being a sacrificial lamb for the transfer window, I think it’s a half truth would we have spent more if he left? Probably as Doug has a habit of passing player fees back into the playing squad.

But I do think we have a budget shown by the bids for Hughes and Woolfden of around £8 million. It’s just getting quality players in this market seems to be a nightmare. We could probably sign league one CBs but the club is trying to bring in quality not quantity.

Still think we sign the Fulham winger for around £1 million and then sign Woolfden especially as they’ve just bid for a CB.

If we do both, then it’s a good window imo. Great would be replacing one of the strikers and who knows maybe that link has legs as well

Away from the performative dramatics, do any of the stat lovers have one of those nice little graphs on Woolfenden to tell us what we might be getting? One from his last season in Champ and one from his season in the Prem might be interesting. I would look myself but everything i find looks like you have to pay for this data.

Thanks in advance.

It's clear that we are after a CB, have bid for Godo and are linked with a striker or two so the club is trying to bring more in. In my opinion the most pressing needs are for a CB and a striker, in that order.

At the start of the window I thought we would lose Rudoni, MVE and Haji. It now looks as if Rudoni and Haji are staying and MVE might, so overall it could turn out to have been a reasonable summer for us even if no-one else comes in. That said, I would obviously prefer a better window than merely a "reasonable" one but I do think we will see a couple of arrivals.

In his last Championship season he did best on the ball, in the top 25% of the division for pass accuracy and completed long passes. He was also in this for tackles won and interceptions, but around the middle of the pack for winning duels on the ground and in the air.
