If it was cheap I wouldn’t be against it, proven and we know he’s a good defender. Would much rather a hughes or Doyle though
If outward moves don't happen I think we might downgrade our CB search from obvious starter to just someone who can compete.

I miss the ITKs
Its funny isn't it without the inside info being leaked here which should never have happened, everyone is now incorrectly assuming Doug doesn't care about transfers and we have no internal plan

This is despite the fact we've appointed two high level new positions in the last 3 months aimed at streamlining operations.

But because Matt Smith and Sparks dont know about anything, there's no plan and doug doesn't care

Get used to the silence. Its how it should be

Isn’t that the nub. It’s harder to get quality when you don’t want to (or can’t) pay for it. Or don’t want to take the risk of making a poor recruitment choice. Frozen into inaction?
Yeah, i think you can be too passive or focus on 1 target to long. The other issue is being too rigid on value on letting go of the current squad players that are deemed to be surplus. You tend to lose in recruiting and money by hanging onto those you can improve on.

As for Doug i think he has a clear vision of market value and has put the club in a better position to control certain outcomes. I also think if he sees potential of investing in a player he will. Its just from the outside looking in like we have no flexibility to anything even mecia leaks, attention or acknowledging that we are holding talks with other clubs about potential deals.

Yeah I know the silence is better for the club in regards to deals.

But I don’t know about anybody else but I miss the excitement of debating rumours, or of hints from people who know way too much or too little.

That’s part of the joy of the transfer window for me, other clubs seem to have it through the local journalists however all the telegraph does is post nonsense from here.

I feel something is brewing. AT has been quiet all day. I suspect / hope he's been promised an exclusive for later

Hyam is getting on a bit now at 29. Although good, he is not the upgrade on what we have already IMO
Yeah I think we can do better than this but in fairness I think he played every championship game for them last season so he must still have a decent engine and be robust as far as injuries are concerned.

There is little joy in these transfer windows. Four months of tedium. It only benefits agents and social media grifters. Should be cut to one month.

I think it should certainly be cut to the start of the season, maybe to make it fair for everyone start of the Prem season.

Have the PL teams declared their squads yet, maybe a few loans incoming
I think there’s a chance if main transfer targets aren’t available/club unwilling to sell at our final offer they won’t buy for buying sake and take a punt on a couple of loans instead. Would certainly go in line with late business.
