Transfer Rumour 25/26 Summer Transfer Window (118 Viewers)

long way home

Sheaf, Lats and Dovin on the treatment table.
EMC, and Rudoni being wrapped up with groin and calf issues.
Wright being babied back in.
Eccles starts back training today couple weeks away from getting into squads

Great start, we in my opinion are desperate for help in certain areas. And overloaded in others where the depth isn't good enough. This is going to take a few windows and for us not to be passive in transfers. I have no idea what's going on but we need to get moving. Because 1 or 2 more injuries and a good start is not going to happen.

Modern football no one takes a man on anymore for fear of losing the ball. If you watched the Brum game one of their lads took someone on, got out muscled and lost is and the crowd were fuming.

I'm afraid the days of swash buckling wingers are long gone. Watch Grealish at City now, terrified to take anyone on. Martinelli at Arsenal the same

If we stopped doing things because they confused and upset the people of Birmingham we’d never have left caves.

For the money we paid for EMC, it’d be nice if he actually took on his man more than 1-2 times a game. He looked very leggy and heavy Saturday.

He really needs to be more positive, far too negative in his general play. Whether that’s management or him who knows. He’s played like that majority of his time here.

all this talk about lack of strikers but EMC doing 3 yard passes backwards virtually everytime he gets the ball is a big factor we hardly create anything.

He hasn't got a trick to go past a defender. He relies on pace and bulk. It might have worked in League One, but the reason why I think he struggles at this level. He just looks clumsy.

As I have said before, a player we need improved performances from this year.

Thought he played well on Saturday. And the back end of last season (when fit).

He had some good moments on Saturday but we need to see him do it consistently. Sakamoto needs to be more consistent as well, especially away from home.

There is a lot of talk about 3 strikers, Wright, Simms and BTA and goals. But in our formation EMC a and Sakamoto aren't out and out wingers. They are strikers too and are encouraged to get in the box and attack the far post. We need to see more goals from both of them this season.

bit Of an over reaction after Saturday, there’s enough there to get up top 6 again and guaranteed we’ll be adding to the squad, relax. that’s one of our best starts to a srason for years 😉
I think the thing that I find the most concerning / disappointing is I don't know that I can point to anything that suggests the coaching team have learned from last season and changed anything tactically.

The Championship is a super competitive league and plenty of teams are very well researched, prepared, coached etc. The tail end of the season and that Hull performance kind of show that we can dominate games but if you can cope with the crosses and work hard, you can get a result.

For me, if we go into this season with the same plan it's less likely we make the playoffs. You can argue about the woeful start last year under Robins, but I think when you add in other teams "figuring us out" and some of the luckier results in that amazing run post-Christmas, it looks a lot harder.

I believe the same squad pretty much could make the playoffs again, but that puts a lot of emphasis on the coaches to work on plan B.

Yeah, insistence on wright down the middle every time is really frustrating me…..seeing BTA moved to the left to accommodate that even more so !

Yeah, it didn't make sense at all. EMC was having some impact and Wright just walked around like he'd tweaked a hamstring. Feel like Wright decides when and where he plays based on some kitman chat from the end of last season. Not good.

Sheaf last 6mins and can’t be relied on to be fit

Eccles is injured and has a history of being injury prone

Allen is no where near the quality we need

Andrews is untested

Torp is also injury prone

Grimes if he gets injured we’re fucked.

I think it’s sensible to be looking for some more experience.

I don’t mind us looking if someone is going out but we have much bigger holes in our squad imo atm.

Take centre back if one of Thomas or Kitching gets injured atm, We have a choice between Bidwell and Perry. That’s a major concern for me.

That’s urgent as well. We need a CB that’s better than what we have.

It’s not experience but dynamism that the team as a whole is lacking, in midfield especially.

I hope lampards just giving it one final go before deciding Wrights more effective coming in from the left and to buy a central striker but might be just wishful thinking.

For all the frustrations with Simms (some understandable), him down the middle and wright on the left for final 20 mins would’ve been far more effective on Saturday than Wright down the middle and BTA/Brau on left.
We just need to stick with Simms down the middle and Wright out on the left. Its worked before, no reason it won't work again. I think Simms is just massively dependent on confidence and he's not going to build it back up sitting on the bench. We invested a significant sum in him, he has all the attributes, just need to stick with it and stop pissing about putting square pegs in round holes. If EMC wants the left wing spot he'll have to fight for it and prove he deserves it.

Don’t think it’s that simple, Wright and Simms did well in a much more direct transitional system.

The position would be the same, but the role wouldn’t. Look at Derby away last year
