I'm making a fair point, which you both have just proved!
The point you’re trying to make is crudely based off transfer fees? Making the assumption that we wouldn’t be spending 3m on a CM to bench him? But then in the same breath, (let’s go off transfermarkt values) you’re championing the idea and requirement to bench the Captain and CM worth 7m. To achieve promotion you need strength and quality rotations. It’s not FIFA.

A fit and firing Ben sheaf is a top top midfielder in the championship:

I think we're just deliberately missing the point at this stage.

Some of you cannot comprehend that we might be bringing someone in to play instead of Sheaf, so you are twisting the universe in order to not entertain it.

That is what this is about, and it is getting boring now. Let's just see what happens.

I get your point but I think it’s good to have a good number of quality players in the squad, even if they’re sitting on the bench most weeks. There will 100% be midfielders out for spells of the season due to injury and Sheaf didn’t exactly look his best last season anyway, so I think we really should be aiming to have a packed quality bench ready to step up whenever needed. (That being said I’d definitely sell Simms if possible, think he’s just a donkey at this point, think it’s possible anyone else would want him? 😭)

So we are going to sign a player for 3 million to sit on the bench?

If you want the quality across the squad to improve, yes that is possible and not unreasonable. But I would also expect them to start some matches. It's not like the bench will be the same all season.

I think the mis understanding is because you’re contradicting yourself, you’re singling Sheaf out. Yes he could well be benched sometimes which I would happily accept, but why not also Grimes/Torp/Rudi? It’s about rotation and still having strength.

2023 - worth 20-25 million and going to a top PL club.
2024 - worth 15 million and going to a lower PL club.
2025 - worth 5 million and going to a heavyweight Championship club.

Why is he still here if he is that good? Why are we spending millions to bring in another central midfielder despite this?

I honestly don't think some of you can see what is in front of you.
We had better sell Sheaf like you say because at this rate we would have to pay £5m to sell him next season.

If it wasnt you and your constant agenda against him then we may take these ramblings seriously.

Armstrong is a quality forward at this level, scored loads the season saints went up, he didn't have a good loan at the baggies last year some loans at clubs dont work out, Ayari's loan weren't a success but he's now playing for Brighton's first team, he's an upgrade on Simms and BTA

He's 28 lol. He's hardly over the hill.
Even the great Michael Owen, one of the greatest strikers in the modern game only managed to score 14 goals in 5 seasons once he reached the age that A.A. is now.

There's a reason Southampton want rid,
There's a reason Albion arnt pursuing him.

And it's the same reason he ain't coming here, ( and neither is Callum Wilson before you bring that one up)

Seriously, you seem to be the only one that still rates him.

I’d have AA in a heartbeat over Simms
