I think something I am interested to see is how the existing players get on. Lampard first summer. He's on training pitch every day with them in thick of it. How many of our players are just going to better this season?

If some make noticeable improvements and then you add in new signings it's very exciting
It's the season of the Torp I reckon.

Yeh I'm a broken record but Kyogo goes either way due the fact its very hard to tell how good someone is from the SPL. I think the likes of Hatate, Maeda, Engels etc are good but I wouldn't be in a rush to pay some of the fees rumoured they'd be available for. Some absolutely horrendous players have looked decent in the SPL.
More recently Kyogo looks like he was less popular with his Ligue 1 team than Sorba Thomas was with his. Think it's a signing they are hoping pays off in the short term but let's hope it's one that ends up fucking them instead.
But Maeda is unlike Kyogo the first choice Japan striker.

Hi everyone.

I've included Kaine Kesler-Hayden in my 'six smartest Championship signings' article so thought I'd post on here. My team Ipswich are still yet to make a signing, but hopefully we'll have one to add to the list soon!

It’s good to see him back in full training. A full preseason will do him good, because it looked like he was approaching the right levels towards the end of last season before his injury.

I do despair at times - he is out for a further 5 months - not sure who would sign a player out for 5 more months? Somebody might say you can use our facilities maybe but no more than that

Brilliant signing! Desperate for some cover at right back when Milan leaves, for when KKH plays centre back and for when Lati goes to Lisbon.

Suspect this is the Burroughs replacement.
He's out for 5 months so are we not sure he isn't the Sheaf replacement ;)

And if he does shine from the start can we expect you to admit you got it wrong and that he might actually be as good or better than MVE?
I always admit when I'm wrong.

So how long will it be before you admit you are wrong? Will you make excuses then wait until he settles into the squad and gets used to everything? I said i can see him being like Rudoni and taking time to settle in just like the vast majority of our signings for several years. Then he showed the world what he can do. You speak as though he will be our best player immediately. You make out that you know he is better than MVE with no evidence other than he was the star player for a very poor side.

The truth is nobody knows how it will go. But I prefer to use an educated guess on past experiences. MVE is one of our best players. I would love to.be wrong and KKH is player of the season from the start. Just can't see it myself.

Re Rudoni I actually thought he settled quickly. Even with our erratic start he was showing he had ability and lots of potential. It was apparent quite quickly he was going to be at least as good as O’Hare and more likely going to be better.

He was much better at the start than a lot of people would admit, he wasn't O'Hare though so certain people wouldn't give him any praise.

Correct. He showed he had ability to make it good. But it didn't happen straight away. Then in the second half of the season he became a beast.

This is what makes me laugh. We have constantly had to wait for the new players to settle in before they show what they can do. Yet there's always some that never learn that it nearly always takes a bit of time and expect players to hit the ground running.

You mention educated guesses yet don't seem to acknowledge his season as Preston's best player or him having played almost identical championship games to mve. Seems you havent actually used previous experiences at all.

So a player playing for the side that finished in 20th and beat relegation by 1 point is a better player than a player who was easily one of the best in a side that finished in 5th and were unlucky in the playoffs?

MVE had plenty of good players to be better than. KKH was the only decent player Preston had.

Instead of continuing with this stupid argument how about waiting until a couple of months into the season. Then look again in January and look at the improvement.

I felt at the start of the season Rudoni went missing in games too often. But Lampard has transformed into one of the best players in the league. Remember when Robins played him as a wing back? Shit like that couldn’t have helped him
I have a few questions i have for those that don't consider the full picture when signing someone. How did it go last time you changed jobs? Was it easy? Did it take time to take everything in? Were you the best at your job straight away? Did it take time to settle in?

Because standing out in a team with worse players is surely more difficult right? I look forward to you being wrong.

Just put him on ignore, it's astute under another name. He just looks for fights online.

He played 51 games for Preston in the Championship last season , what on earth are you on about ?

Preston didn’t play 51 Championship games last season.
