Have just seen on twitter someone say Simms is on 99 appearances for the club and that maybe Lampard didn't play him as we may have a 100 appearance clause with Everton.

Personally I can't see it being enough for us to warrant not playing him all playoffs. But if it was significant and we are planning to sell before next season it makes senses Doug wouldn't want to pay out.

If it’s true and let’s say the payment was another £1m you’d have to be bloody confident that Simms would do better than BTA to bring him on instead of him with a few mins to go …

Yep it’s nonsense

Are these recommendations based on stats or having watched the players? I've watched Kozubal quite a few times and he's going to be excellent. I mentioned him on here at the start of the season as someone to buy.

Afonso Sousa also at Lech Poznan would be another good buy imo.
Bit of both English league players, Sadilek, Berg, Sut watch, Kozubal and the other 3 more stats though

Would be a good start to get our first choice LB and a young cover RB sorted early on.

Think more than anywhere you want your defensive unit sorted before pre season don’t you? If we can get a GK and CB in soon too it’s looking good.

I've still got a sneaky suspicion the keeper will be a loan, which usually takes a little longer.

It’s a testament to MVE that he’s basically played two consecutive seasons without any significant injuries despite having no cover.

I don’t want to get all Reform, but there does seem to be some players that rarely miss games with niggles and come back pretty quick and others *cough*Sheaf*cough* who won’t play unless they’re 200% fit.

There won't be the massive turnover people think

We spent 17 million in the last 2 windowss without a big sale

I think we will see a couple of free agents of decent quality, and a loan until we start getting players out the door
In all honesty, we don't need a massive turnover anyway. I think a lot of people saying we do is a knee jerk reaction to Tuesday night. We finished 5th for a reason, and I highly doubt Frank will go tearing apart a squad that achieved that. No doubt we need some additions and some changes, but not major surgery where the majority of the squad is shipped out.

For me, Sheaf will go, as will Simms. I also think BTA will be on the move, and then Collins, and possibly Bidwell and Binks. Howley and Burroughs I imagine will be released.
If we can replace them with better, or players who fit Franks system better, then I think we can go one further next season.

Sheaf - Lewis O'Brien
Simms - Promise David
BTA - Ryan Hardie
Collins - Free agent
Bidwell - Brau
Binks - Jimmy Dunne on a free
Winger for competition for Saka and EMC. I would love Mikey Johnston from WBA, but not likely I imagine.

I would be happy with that to be honest. If something has been up with Haji and it can be cured, you keep him all day long. If his head has gone or some such, then get our money back as a minimum and let him go.

Jimmy Dunne as cover for MVE or Thomas or he could play RCB in a 3 with Thomas & Kitching if FL sometimes wants to play that way.
Whenever I've watched QPR he's been one of the better players and was linked with a move to Sheff United in the Jan transfer window.

Not sure he'd come to be a back up, but would certainly push for a start which I'm not sure our current CB back ups do.

This is my thinking as well. People claiming we have tens of millions in the bank as X Y and Z are being sold when the window hasn't even opened yet. So much can happen between now and deadline day.

I can only see us spending significantly on replacements for players which are moved on for good fees.

Famous last words but I really don't think anyone we dont want to lose will go

We'll see. Difficult to say that when realistically if a club comes in and meets the club's value for a player they will almost certainly go.

Ultimately though I hope no player we actually want to keep will actively push for a move away during this window.

We have a strong negotiating position for just about all our players because they’re all contracted for another 2 years.

The fees will either be large enough to soften the blow or the players will remain with us.

It was important to finish in the Top 6 to keep players like MVE, Wright and others engaged with the project. A midtable finish and the 5 year plan looks a pipe dream.

For me, he’s 25 at the start of the season and easily good enough for most bottom half prem clubs. If I was him I’d be pushing for a move now. Hopefully he stays as I think he’s absolutely quality for this level

Disagree to be honest, he makes a lot of mistakes that often go unpunished in the Championship. He needs to mature a bit and cut those mistakes to make that jump up.

Rumours so far:

Gk - Kees Sims
Rb - Caleb Kporha/Richard Olise
Cb - Tyrese Asante
LB- Brau
Rm - Tyler Goodrham

Give it a few weeks and this list will be doubled

"We have a strong negotiating position for just about all our players because they’re all contracted for another 2 years"....alternatively we are stuck with contracted players, some quite expensive, that we don't want but are unable to sell.

I heard something today about simms that may or may not have been from the mouth himself .

Would I be correct in thinking there's something potentially going on / relocation

Well this squad was good enough to get in the play offs this year so if we kept entirely the same squad ( which we won’t ) there is no reason to believe it couldn’t next.
