Sponsors pay money to get their brand exposure. A lot of companies deliberately make controversials ads to gain this.

Yeah I was watching the video of last minute winners the other day.

First thing I thought when watching it was why would any crackpot want to sell this guy?

It was the same when he first came and took a few months to get going saying we should ship he back to Turkey. He's was out of form after his injury that's all

Kiefer Moore great pass to set up Sunderland's winner at Wembley . Morris had poor season.

Both Moore and Morris had a worse non-penalty minutes per goal than Simms. This obsession with those two players needs to stop. It’s embarrassing.

Haji Wright is miles better than both players and it would be suicidal (for our promotion aspirations) to replace him with one of those strikers.

That’s how I read it, makes sense as circa 6-7 million operating loss per year - but sure there are far more qualified people to confirm / explain!

If I’m not wrong and I often am, owners are allowed to put in cash however not allowed to exceed the FFP amount. This amount doesn’t count as income to the club but considering we just made a profit account wise, might not be a worry?

The interesting take is has he given 10% away for a new investor. It’s not a secret he’s been courting a few money people.

I haven't done a deep dive so could be off.......but it looks like an investment from DK....either he's put more money in or there's been a new share allotment with new investors (2nd seems unlikely). Whilst we had an operating loss, previous player sales made us turn a profit so in theory we're not covering any past losses, so most likely looking to prep for future spending.

That's exciting stuff with the potential gyok and Hamer money to come too. If we keep Rudoni and MVE too it's an absolute winner

So PSR is basically assessed on the capacity in a club’s Profit & Loss account, not cash flow. Our last 3 years are:

2022 - (£6.7m loss)
2023 - (£4.7m loss)
2024 - £8.7m profit

Averaged out, we’ve made a loss just shy of £1m each year. Theoretically we could make a loss of £43m in the coming accounts and still not be in a PSR breach. That could all be owner spending, which doesn’t count as revenue. I don’t think we’re in any danger

The likelihood is this will at least in part be a cash flow loan. We’re likely running a wage bill that eats up most of our turnover, coupled with the fact we didn’t make a big sale last summer.

However, just to make it fun, that £15m could theoretically (again) be turned into £60m for PSR purposes when we sign players on 4-year deals this summer.

If playoff form was everything, Vik failed to score in 3 games.

If Haji Wright leaves this summer, we’ll be cashing in a large cheque for him. He is a top end striker in this league.

He didn’t have the best run of form to close out the season but as a team, our xG and form as a whole dropped off.

Don’t think 12 goals is irreplaceable and his lack of effort in some games is shocking. We need a striker who turns up every time and even if not scoring to be affecting the game.
You can tell within 5 mins of KO if he can be arsed or not and when not we’re playing with 10 men.
I don’t see him as a sole striker through the middle as too often he doesn’t fancy the battle with the centre halves.
If we could get our money back I’m sure the scouting team could find better.

It's all down to what's in Haji's head. It was clear he wasn't fully committed as the end of the season. If he returns after the summer with a similar mindset, he needs to move on. Regardless of his past record.

Possibly, or we’re injecting cash into the squad. £15m + whatever we recoup in some outgoings should give Lampard significant sums to upgrade the team to get over the final hurdle.

We’re closer than we think.

12 divided by 27 is less than 0.5 per game. Including the play offs it’s 29 games. 5 goals were in 2 games so it’s 7 goals in the other 27 games hardly prolific.

That is true. If it was cash flow it’d be injected as a directors loan. Must be external investment thinking about it.

As CovCityCo is the parent, I’d have expected Doug to loan money to CCFC, via the parent like he’s done before. The fact new shares have been issued in the parent company would suggest external investment. Otherwise, he’s just issuing new shares to himself, which is possible but unlikely if it’s to aid cash flow.

It’s a shame you get the reference, it was mocking Eni Aluko’s infamous ‘you do the maths’ quote.

However, your maths is wrong because it was 5 goals in 3 games; Sunderland, Plymouth and Burnley. So you’re penalising a striker for scoring a hattrick against Sunderland which was arguably our most important win of the season because tilted the odds in our favour on finishing in the Top 6.

Bad maths aside, to put into context how silly your argument is… Piroe was the top scorer in the division with 19 goals, in 3 games he scored 2+ goals (6 v Stoke over 2 games). Which means he scored 14 goals in 46 games… is he also “hardly prolific”?

Which, btw, Haji’s ratio was better even including the 2 playoff games. Bearing in mind Piroe cost £10m raising to £12m…

Haji Wright has scored 12 goals in 29 matches so far in the Championship 2024/2025 season. 8 of the 12 goals were scored at home while he scored 4 goals at away games. Overall, Haji Wright's goals scored per 90 minutes is 0.51. Moreover, Haji Wright's total G/A (goals + assists) is 13 for this season. His goal involvement equates to 0.55 per 90 minutes. His Non-Penalty xG per 90 minutes is 0.46. This puts Haji Wright's npxG output at 11.00 which puts him in the top 98 percentile of Championship players.
