Hopefully we get 2 quality signings , one midfielder and one wide/attacking player. To date KKH hasn't been used as LB cover so if that's how the coaching staff see it a LB to compete with JDS would be a good addition

If Dasilva can't get through the amount of games we have coming up then i'd take trying KKH at LB over what i've seen from Bidwell recently.

I would too but not sure whether the management team see it that way

No I doubt they will either, they'll want round pegs in round holes. Watching Bidwell recently has been painful at times though, which is a shame as he used to be a decent LB.

I’d only sign a LB if Bidwell is moved on. The old stalwarts of the Robins era; Wilson, Allen and Bidwell are now all ‘culture’ players. Good to have around the dressing room and all are happy with reduced roles.

Personally, I don’t think we’ll move any of those players on in Jan, but definitely in the summer. Although, I’ve said this for 2 seasons now…

Priority for Jan is an out and winger and a player who can play AM as well as out wide imo.

Well it isn't utter bollocks is it. How many of those players genuinely made a massive contribution to Burnley's promotion push? I remember Bournemouth did the same several years ago and again, most of the signings made didn't really work particularly.

You're frankly a complete imbecile if you think you need to flood a successful, settled and established squad with a load of signings unless it's completely necessary - i.e. injuries etc.

Adding to the squad with 2-3 quality players would more than suffice.
4 for me maybe I'm an imbecile to think we need cover at LB DM and 2 wingers but I think Frank feels the same way.

Let's stick with the little old Cov mindset though. We'll be fine to run Tats into the ground... Grimes never gets injured.. yeah Bidwell can definitely be adequate cover. Let's pretend EMC doesn't have record for injuries. We'll be fine and it's totally worth gambling this amazing opportunity we have just so we don't upset the precious feels of a few fringe players

Madness, we have been short of depth for years now is the time to act. Nobody needs to come in on a promise when we are a very attractive proposition for loads of players. A massive chance for any permanent signings to be a prem player in 6 months. A really good experience for loanees. But they would have to fight for their place. The Burnley players not playing is irrelevant, cover and depth isn't starters is it, it's an insurance plan. Hopefully we can survive with the minimal changes but sod risking not having cover if the worst happens

I agree on the priority and agree we won't sign another LB. Our next signing at LB will be in the summer hopefully as a Prem club.

Jan is just getting the right players in to keep us on top and then in Jan, assuming promotion, you’d need a massive ‘churn’ to get the correct players in to mount a serious survival challenge.

Gut feeling, we’d be the best placed team to stay up even if we went up with Ipswich, Southampton or even Leicester. We can poke holes in Lampard’s CV, but he stayed up with Everton and has finished in the Top 4 with Chelsea so there aren’t going to be many managers better suited to us. With the benefit of hindsight, it explains why we’ve done so well since he’s come in.

Get a loan in someone who can attack surely. I agree we need to be careful not to load our squad with players that won't cut it if we go up. But the drop off and style shift if we loose Dasilva is way to jarring

I'm not going to say we're definitely not and get bookmarked and called a c**t when it happens but i can't see it. If they want to bring in anyone who can improve us anywhere on the pitch i'm not against it.

Am I being really naive thinking if we are still well ahead of the pack come January, we will basically have the pick of available Prem loans and a huge queue of agents knocking on our door saying their players would love to sign for us? Is 4-5 in that big a leap?
Why do we need 4-5 in though? No point signing players for the sake of it. Could destabilise what seems to be a really well knitted group.

I think we need a winger, an attacking central midfielder and possibly a left back if Brau is a write off. Nothing more really.

That's the thing, I'd love improvements obviously but that's for the summer. Now we just need players that can cover without us having to shift our entire play style. Round pegs in round holes as mentioned above.

There must be a willing LB loanee that could actually get up and down the same way Dasilva does? They would get game time if we managed subs well.

Same goes for Grimes, yeah he's a robot but we are so screwed if he does get injured. He is impossible to replace but even if we wanted to plug the whole with a classic DM we just don't have that.

As for the Wings Tats is constantly targeted and EMC seems susceptible to tweaks. Yeah we can shift Haji and BTA around but again it means a change in play style. Having a pair of young wingers in that can be eased in would be a great option.

At a stretch you could make the case for 4-5 players:
2 x wingers
1 x AM
1 x striker
1 x LB

The Bamford story is interesting and think we wouldn’t have vetoed that move with nothing else lined up for Jan. LB is high conditional on Bidwell leaving imo. Realistically, I think we sign 1 winger rather than 2 because assuming we sign that Manneh he is a AM/LW which fits that need too.

Realistically, 2 signings is a must and anything in addition to that is a bonus (2nd winger, ST, LB or CB).

3 minimum wouldn't be a disaster I just don't get the idea that adding bodies would rock the boat. Our players aren't thick or totally spineless. I'm sure they would prefer to have a better chance at promotion. Bar a marquee signing, which I don't think is on the cards, adding a few is the wise move for me.

We have a 24 man squad which includes 4 keepers. We could let Kai and Brau out on loan for experience. Bidder will probably stick around but it's stark that he no longer fits what we need and Lati really doesn't seem likely to play much part at the moment.

The squad is tiny any way you slice it

Go get Taiwo Awoniyi on loan. Put the cat amongst the Haji and Ellis pigeons.

Find a PL kid who can add a bit of something on the wings, a Championship younger player like Mhemeti

We don’t need a striker. We’ve got three of the most effective goal scorers in the league. We don’t need a CB either. We do need another CM or two though.

Hypothetically speaking, we dont need to pay all of that. Loans can range from 0-100% salary. Depends on what the parent club want, of course. And with Awoniyi, they'd only want him getting games, as they'd probably want him back in the summer.

There has to be an ITK balance between Jimmy, Saddle and GIMOC somewhere. Jimmy just sticks the tip in and walks away, leaves you wanting much more. Saddle just rammed it in with no foreplay at all which some people didn't like. Then there's GIMOC who bent you over, missed the hole and snapped his dick in half.
I think I need Jimmy to evolve honestly.

Honestly man, if i knew more i would say. He rarely gives a name until it's virtually done. I literally just asked him on Saturday if there were any more whispers about incomings, his words were we had been monitoring a midfielder from abroad and made an enquiry about a Championship winger. So i was just left to discuss who it could be.

I don't get much from him but what he does tell me usually turns out to be good. Everything he told me in the summer was pretty spot on. Apart from Sheaf, i don't think anyone saw that coming, it was very last minute.

Lol I would definitely be enquiring about Mike Johnston, not because of that first half he's always been a dangerous player, was set to leave baggies in the summer so maybe a cheeky bid in Jan to bring him here?

Subbed off at HT, wern't he? Head was turned in the tunnel. Molumby heard the conversation and lost it, hence the red card. DK got Baggies on strings. Retracted the bid at full time.

I made it up.

I just don’t see where the extra bodies would play though.

You can see where a winger would get mins- we’ve only got 2 natural wingers in the squad. Same for a CM, would play in Rudoni’s absence and replace Allen’s mins. Left back would be first back up to Dasilva.

Beyond that I don’t see any other players getting much.
