We also have a handful of players that could and indeed might have to, step up.And it’s OK to be rational about players abilities and not just claim every player we have is the greatest ever. Ipswich went down the road of buying all the best Championship players. Clearly, not a template to follow. They went for quantity over quality.Completely overhauling a team that got promotion seems to be working for Sunderland as it did for Forest before them, but as I mentioned previously both needed to do so having only been promoted via the play offs, and so had a weaker starting position than those promoted automatically.
It doesn't always work though. Ipswich previously had a similar team ethic that we seem to have this season and spent big in the PL, but having then been relegated and despite having a very strong squad on paper, are struggling to find that togetherness they previously had.

In cases where we have three games in a week, being able to play someone nearer to Torp's ability as opposed to Jamie Allen's would be a clear advantage. The games where it's been just Grimes and Allen in the middle have been real hard work because it's just not Allen's game and especially not from the start.We have loads of capable CMs in case we get an injury (and we’ve already had many).

Sheff U player of the year in the PL. Voted best player in the Championship last season. Destroyed us in both games last season. This year has been disrupted by bad management and injury.If you think Hamer has had a better season than Torp it might be time to put the stats sheet down. Torp is a monster player for us under Lampard. Hamer on the other hand, even Blunts fans would tell you he's been poor.
