Individuals are playing better. I don’t disgeee with needing depth, but keeping what we have as a unit is more important for me.

We've had the easiest start out of every team in the league and conceded 6 in the last 3 games.

Some fans more excited for the dopamine hit of a new player joining than looking at the bigger picture. Another of the sad developments in modern football that's made the game as a whole worse.

I say this about about fans who obsess over youth players "breaking through" and "setting the world alight". More about the excitement than reality.

So glad I had my bed wetting panics 2 weeks ago. Calm now today knowing this window ain't going to be anything like we all wanted. For me the biggest W this summer was the stadium

sheaf Going has left us short but we’ve signed a keeper as cover for dovin, back up left back, cover for mve and hopefully woolfended that’s all we needed really. the squads def improved, would still like a couple more in but if we don’t we won’t be far off again

For context I think the starting 11 is better this year as they look a lot better from the coaching side but I would argue with Andrew’s and Obikwu on the bench if that is good enough for a top six side

A lot of us highlighted the concerns at the start of August and in July. We were told by the super fans to be patient and wait till the end of the window. Since then...

I find Wrexham cringey but i don't hate them. Birmingham, a bigger club, essentially trying to stand on their shoulders and become a temu version, is tinpot as fuck and i don't think it works either. Who the hell gives a fuck about Birmingham City?

I generally have a problem with teams coming in and taking the piss with their spending, it fucks up the market and makes it harder for clubs like ours trying to do things legit without a tycoon cheat code.

People turning their nose up at Patrick roberts but would be happy with KKH or MVE on the wing. Its honestly beyond comprehension at times.

BTA has already scored as many goals from the right as Patrick Roberts did all last season
I think you need to settle down a bit and wait til 7pm. It's boring sure but this is all a touch dramatic.

But arguably weaker in midfield and have not developed depth on our wings which has gotten worse since Wright has been moved to the number 9. Again Sheaf never really played anyway but god we need someone in so the drop off from Eccles isn’t a cliff edge

We tried to shift MVE and didn't work out. That still might happen in January I suppose if he continues the way he's started. Sheaf was probably the only other that they would have considered moving after that

Patrick Roberts set up 8 goals and got promoted. He would have been good on loan.

You can't be telling me youre happy with business?

Not like SBT to have a meltdown. There’s enough in the squad to get to Jan as it is and maintain high levels.

People forget that we’ve bought the stadium so that will limited our manoeuvrability in the transfer market.

you’re usually a pretty reasonable poster but you’re absolutely pissing your pants today aren’t you

we’ve kept MVE and signed a solid centre back. Only curveball is sheaf going but to be honest he’s looked pretty average at best for a season or so now. Ideally additional CM cover but other then that think we’re in good shape

He's also listing loads of players like Chaplin and Roberts who are going out on loan to get minutes when they'd come here and be on the bench every week ffs.

Nobody is asking for a huge overhaul. Just a better squad and a more solid defence. A huge overhaul isnt needed, and not what ANYONE on this thread is asking for. But when a serious injury to Rudoni leaves us up shit creek, its ok as we bought in 1 CH on deadline day. That'll work!

And that’s fine but it’s again just irresponsible where we are in letting sheaf go with no one lined up on deadline day. Woolf is a great signing but how can we seriously think we can last the season with only one LW in EMC, One 10 in Rudoni and four senior CMs

Compared to 12 months ago, I'd say yes. Players are settled. The likes of Bidwell, Allen and Eccles have been phased out. Those three played a decent amount of minutes last September. We have Grimes.

It's a difficult balance to strike. We could have gone down the 2023 route by selling Rudi and MVE and gambling on £35m worth of talent.

You aren't guaranteed quality when spending millions, as we've seen in the past 12 months.

What time does the transfer window close, I thought it was 7 UK time?

Literally went to make a sandwich and do a few work emails, and this thread has gained 8 pages and the bed has been pissed.

That's not to say I may or may not join in a few hours time!

Has it? You’ve got Grimes, Torp, Eccles and Allen.

Grimes has missed a handful of games in the last 6-7 seasons. So there’s only the necessity to have a backup plan for Torp/Eccles.

It’s mental that people will say we need 5 first team CMs and look at positions like AM and RW/LW and conclude that we’re ok.

It’s just not happening is it @Alkhen

Can I just say the absolute upmost respect to Doug for acquiring the ground truly magnificent

but on the pitch I honestly believe we’ll regress in amount of points and league position

There’s not enough depth to mount a serious promotion push; that’s just a fact and frank will know that

Im not pissingmy pants but am totally frustrated yes.

Everyone at the end of last year was under the consensus we neededbetter than Allen, and most in their ideal window wanted Eccles out to upgrade on. Now they are integral to our cover in CM, a position where Torp is prone to breaking down and where we will need to rotate.

We play a formation with wingers and only have 2 experienced wingers in the squad.

Most wanted one of Simms or BTA out and we've got rid of neither

Most wanted Da Silva as backup and Bidwell out and neither have happened.

Its been a ponderous window to be honest.
