4 million Woolfenden, premier league experience, mainstay of a promotion campaign with Ipswich, rave reviews from fans. Cov fans - 'dont think this is what we need

15 million Hughes - only played in L1 and in a struggling championship side, made Bobby Thomas look like Becenbauer in his last game. Cov fans - 'yea hes exactly what we need'

I genuinely think the caludon centre would have a field day on here

You can see why our first couple of bids for Hughes were 4m and 7m

Which is exactly what they will get for him in years time if they are relegated.. maybe even less

agree that fee is outstanding business.

Sensible business, again.

So are we calling him Woolfy or Wolfy? I know it should have the double-o, but it's slightly longer to type and I'm all about efficiency.

Woolfenden is an excellent signing. Gutted to see him leave, but with O’Shea getting the captaincy he was going to struggle to get minutes and it’s hard to keep backup CBs happy.

He reads the game very well and his progressive passing is great so I can see why Lampard likes him. Negatives are that he’s not very vocal for a defender and can occasionally get done for pace.

No idea on the fee but I imagine you’ll get a good deal given that he’s asked to leave and we won’t play hardball and stand in his way. Market value is probably 5m but I reckon it’ll be around 3m with some add-ons. That’s just guess work not insider information though.

The move is understandable in the circumstances but it’s a sale that could age badly for us!

Im hearing from a lot of your fans he’s part of the old guard you could to with right now in your team to get things going again?

Good deal to be honest

Off the bat, it’s a better deal than for Hughes to be honest. That was paying PL money for a player with ‘potential’ to be a PL player.

Hull just didn’t want to sell because of their situation so they banded about stupid figures.

Yeah 99% bullshit, I'm sure.

However, he bullied our midfield last season. We don't have much bite currently, if/when games require it.

The winger Rak Sakyi would be class. The centre mid Rak Sakyi would be a massive risk to be honest

I'll be honest cant see us going for another defender now.

I do like the idea of that lad from Bodo though.

The good Rak Sakyi on loan for the wings and a big CM and that woulda ctually be OK

If Rak-Sakyi’s choosing between us and Russell Martin’s career suicide project at Rangers it’s in the bag.

that is where he is at the moment, he'll be getting experience around mens football and Grimes hardly misses any time while still being great

He is highly rated. My mate who supports Chelsea says he can play different roles in midfield and would be good signing for us. Lets not pass opinion off as fact that one brother is good and the other is not
