Eccles coming off the bench and filling in is definitely at that level. He’ll always do a job for the team and I’m hoping that time with Lampard/coaches he’ll step up even more

With Wrexham signing sheaf does that mean Jordan James isn’t going to them?

Might be worth a look unless he’s off elsewhere

No way, he needs a good full season first before he goes for anything like that.

He's been immense these first 4 games, but that's all it is - 4 games.

I doubt we sell for less. He's already better than any version of Sheaf nevermind the crock we're selling for 6.5 now.
Torp is being groomed into a monster by Lampard.

99% sure it’s too late in the window to get the lad from MLS we were linked to. Shame as he looked like he had a bit about him.

Not sure if just me but sheaf has never cut the mustard for me. When Eccles and Allen are around you then you will look better and he is a decent footballer overall but another we’ve gone past if we want to progress. The fact he never plays just makes it a no brainer.

been a good servant to the club but the last 12 months or so has been painful to watch him so 6.5m and run.

He did for me
Seeing his reaction when I eventually watched the Luton play off defeat after many many months and seeing his genuine crying he’s held a special place in coventry players for me
Good move for him good move for us if we can bring who we want in

But it shouldn’t be too hard for us to attract players, we didn’t have a problem last season getting grimes or rudoni, ? So depends if your going after players that you can actually afford or just to say, “ well we tried “ hope I’m wrong, hoping at 7.01 pm tomorrow we’re talking about how we’ve just added 3 quality players to the squad

Well…there are players out there for sure.

If you get 5 mins check out Segecic at Pompey. I think he cost them £1mil. He’s brilliant.

If Torps progression in the physical aspects of our game hadn't changed this summer, Sheaf to Wrexham would not of been thought of or possible. Torp is now a player that has all the aspects to be a top player in our league and a squad player in lower prem.

This is on him and his mindset to want to get to the level that's needed. Still has more room to grow and improve, but Sheaf has been left behind and if we can pull in a better player than Sheaf that will only force Torp to raise his game again. This is a massive positive and really a natural happening if you as a squad want to get better.

Good luck to the lad and wish him well, he will be ok in Wales.

We need a replacement and im sure one will appear tomorrow. Be calm all, Doug has a plan...

Im sure Sheaf is on his way because hes in the last year of his contract, and may have indicated that he's not signing another.

By now he would normally of been offered a contract extension, but there has been no mention of it, but that doesn't mean a conversation hasn't taken place.

£6.5m for an injury prone bench warmer who can go on a free next summer is very good business.

it’s a good offer, but it’s a big risk given we have less than 24 hours left.

Especially as Binks went weeks back and not been replaced, I've not got much confidence in a replacement for Sheaf being sorted in less than 24 hours

He’d do a job. If Rudoni or Grimes get injured for a prolonged period that’s a different matter but that’s because they’re integral to the whole way we play. Not sure anyone we’d get in would replace them like for like unless maybe a prem loan. I wouldn’t have trusted sheaf to do that job (grimes replacement) for the season either as he can’t stay fit. Shame as he was a very good player when playing regularly.

If someone’s offering you 6m+ for a player that’s struggled to stay fit and can’t get in the first 11 you’ve got to take it, unless you’re a parachute club or maybe one or two others. If we’d turned it down and sheaf wasn’t being picked here I can’t imagine he’d have been best pleased either. If the deal gets done he’s probably on for a longer contract on higher wages which considering injury history and the fact he’ll be first choice, he’d want to take
