Think it’s a case of let’s not panic. We’ve clearly got money to spend. I’m sure things will pop up out of the blue in the next 24hrs.

The emphatic return of Gus (joking).

You literally do it every single day of your life, me doing it once for a player I want us to sign is slightly different

You definitely have the work ethic.

Let's be clear on separating two connected but independent ideas:

1. Selling Sheaf for some wedge when he can barely stay fit nowadays, is good business

2. Not replacing Sheaf if we do sell him, is terrible business

Because they'll want him to play every game and he is ok but just that.

Could be a busy deadline day. Think if you can get money for Sheaf you take it but if him and Andrew’s are off we defo need another midfielder. Allen and Eccles isn’t enough cover for Grimes, Torp and Rudi.

Who do you expect us to replace Sheaf with? Who realistically is going to come in and get ahead of Grimes?

Little sad if Sheaf goes as he was one my favourite players when fit. Excellent on his day but a fresh start is best for him given his injury record

Stripping emotion out of it though it makes perfect sense at this time if we can get Hollywood FC to stump up a few million for him and reinvest it. Which we absolutely have to as we can’t turn to Allen.

Why are you so touchy? Don’t dish it out if you can’t take it back.

As I said you should stay of all transfer related threads. You’re winding yourself up more than anything…

Grimes, Torp and Rudoni won’t play every single game. We have Eccles and then the drop off in quality is significant

Someone from abroad?

Never heard of Torp before he came in nor Hamer for that matter.

We don’t need a Sheaf replacement, Eccles is a similar profile. We could do with another 8/10 to compete with Rudoni and Torp.

Who said anything about coming in ahead of Grimes? I'm saying right now all we have is Grimes who can reliably play that deep lying role and control the game, and is not going to survive playing every game. If we don't bring someone in to rotate him with thats going to kill us.

I'm buzzing if Sheaf is off for a half decent fee tbh. Think you're all hysterical. We're not a Birmingham or Wrexham, we cannot and should not run in a way where we're stupid enough to turn down good money for a bloke that can't stay fit.
It also might help move the dial on something else. Wait and see before shitting the bed.

I suspect that there might be exploratory talks if this is true. Sounds like it might be a rush at this stage but Wrexham were after somebody else who's fallen through.

And yet yesterday he looked dead on his feet, and totally fallable the entire game.

Nobody should be guaranteed a starting spot, yet thats what our fans are doing with Grimes

I know he’s as old as God’s dog but I can see Barry Bannan being allowed to walk free on account of not being paid at the rate SWFC are going. Bench option for Grimes. How old was Strachan when he stopped playing?
(He’s the only similar player to Grimes who’d possibly cost nothing and might possibly be available)

If you can get a good fee for sheaf you have to look at it

he is when fully fit a great player but that is increasingly less often and he plays in a similar role to grimes who is better than him
