Il be honest its only really took notice of him against us , hadn't heard much about him before ..

Thought he looked excellent

His defensive actions were good. Didn’t look the most technically gifted. He was better the second time I seen him play against us tbf.

I'm not sure we've clearly got enough to be spending £10m+ on individual players

And it would seem silly to spend that and not get another winger or even a striker.

The risk is then decreased because we’ll have 10 x 15 millions to wave around like Nigerian princes!

Id argue that every penny is more important for us in the premier league. A promoted side simply cant get anything wrong ..

We get the right players in now who can step up then thats going to save us money and benefit us

If we didnt have it why would we continue to pursue the player ?

We aren't getting a striker in when we have 4 on the books. Spending big on a CB when we only have 2 we actually mind playing is much wiser.

I'm not saying we literally can't afford it, I mean I don't think it's sensible.

Clearly we have had some sort of encouragement from Hughes representatives to continue to submit more bids. A huge clue will come this weekend. If he’s in the Hull team Saturday, I would hazard a guess it’s unlikely to happen.

“Owner is convinced we’ll get £20M for Hughes next summer”

“They’ll come in for £12M”
“Even so, tell em to $@$@ off”
“Hughes can do better than Coventry”

I always held it against him that we spent money on him and he couldn’t hit a barn door!
Now $300k we are spending on people like Raphael for development hoping they ‘might’ make it.
Spending £2.5m on Bassette cause he ‘could’ be worth more one day and has raw potential

What a time to be alive

Hughes would go for more than 15m to prem in year or two even if we signed him and failed to get promoted.

Fair enough we might not get the lad , however if we do , you have to trust the process which is doing us so well already

I’m not worried about what we’re spending, more putting all the eggs in one basket and it ending badly

I do genuinely think they’ll buckle if we go a bit more

This is the thing, if he gets injured or flops we're fucked. And probably instantly lose £8m+ on his value.

Yeah it’s this for me too.

I do think we need a centre back though and if he is the difference between shipping sloppy goals then perhaps it’s worth it.

We won't though will we, without promotion no one is spending more than £18-20m on a championship CB.

At this point the only way he can do better than coventry is a move to the premier league this window or January.

We are a fantastic club with great crowds and ambitions of the premier league a realistic goal .

It would be a great move for him
