Lati is an out and out centre half ??? You might not rate him but that’s his position.
I am certain we’ll get another one in and Lati will be the emergency reserve. But he's played there, RB/RWB and midfield so for me he's more of a utility player even if that's his most favoured position.
We really need another CB, but again, after yesterday's news, I won't get bent out of shape about it.
I am certain we’ll get another one in and Lati will be the emergency reserve.
Lati: So I'm like 'first reserve' then?I am certain we’ll get another one in and Lati will be the emergency reserve.
It'll have been a lot more than £20m that's for sure...Come on man, are you genuinely moaning we bought the stadium because you'd rather spend £20 million on players
I don't know whats up with you atm, you need to cheer up. I can give you a hug if you like? Maybe I can persuade a few others and we could do a full on forum cuddle party.
Lati: Sorry fellas, just got a missed call from Pep Guardiola.Lati: So I'm like 'first reserve' then?
Frank: Well we haven't really got any reserves so, sort of, no.
Lati: Cool, cool.
You did it…Bloody Fisher…not in relation to this but he said ‘Two Turkeys do not an Eagle make’.Always up for a cuddle
Just never been sold that the stadium is anything but an albatross or a turkey or whatever bird it was. Maybe I’m wrong and it does make us millions, I hope so. Just feel that priority was getting us over the line to a proper promotion contender.
The previous owners of the arena didn't buy it for the benefit of who it was built for. On top of that we're getting our best attendances since the days JH made HR an all seater stadium. Our city is buzzing. If there's a time and an owner to make the arena a success it's now. If it still makes a loss but it's less than the rent would be we're still up and are safer than we've been for many years.Like I see the theory. As King says every club wants to build a ground with an exhibition hall and a hotel and do concerts and we have that. I just think ultimately success on the pitch gets you much more and the arena success is off the back of that. This stadium in L1 isn’t much use as we saw, in the PL it may be a huge asset, but we’ve got to get there.
I just can’t get over how everyone who has owned it has failed or given up. Is it too close to the NEC? Is transport lacking? Or has it just been badly run or as King suggests needs a brand identity? I’m not sure.
I looked yesterday too, they didn't file their accounts in May as they had in 2024. The financial position had been improving it was said and the £7m was expected to be much smaller. The interesting part of the King interview yesterday was him saying that the prem clubs are all trying to get the hotel, arena, casino thing going at their gaffs and "we already have it".Last report I can find just says revenue up.

The one before in April last year said £7m loss I believe. Couldn’t find this years accounts tho.

I think that if the losses start to mount up King will sell up, in all or in part. The value of the club probably doubled yesterday.

We've played home games in 4 different grounds in the last 12 years, it's been insane.
So I can't see how anyone can see this as anything but brilliant news.
Doesn't mean it won't be without issues, but there are no players I'd prefer to sign over buying the stadium.
I think our current CB situation is really poor and we shouldn't have allowed it to get to the point where we've only got 2 out and out CBs at the club, but after yesterday I couldn't care less, owning the stadium trumps everything else.
You did it…Bloody Fisher…not in relation to this but he said ‘Two Turkeys do not an Eagle make’.
I always thought SISU’s time at the club was a tad challenging for us fans…
I don’t think we’d ever have a Sisu situation again. They were uniquely stupid in their approach. Again if that was your fear I get it but I don’t think it was a rational fear.
Your expertise on irrelevant emotion is unsurpassed so fair enough ….Yeah but last we knew it lost £7m a year. The rest is just emotion from a city fan and not really relevant tbh.
The thing is, when you're beholden to a 3rd party you don't need to have owners as stupid as sisu, you just need a landlord as cuntish as wasps.
We had the double whammy of both.
Our destiny is now firmly in our own hands.
Your expertise on irrelevant emotion is unsurpassed so fair enough ….

Maybe it all makes more financial sense in a PL setup. I sense from what King said that they feel this is the season or we're likely gong to be losing a few of these players. Haji will be worth a king's ransom if he has a good World Cup, Rudi will probably want to move on, maybe Milan, Torp and we're back to rebuilding.Yeah as I said when everyone jumped on me I can see it if we’re looking to sell.
And the hands of our landlords

Clearly it does make the club a more attractive proposition to any buyer, and that is a good thing.Yeah as I said when everyone jumped on me I can see it if we’re looking to sell.
The council? Surely they wouldn't be stupid enough to try and fuck the club over again
Clearly it does make the club a more attractive proposition to any buyer, and that is a good thing.
I mean they never tried in the first place but if you were worried before then I don’t see why you wouldn’t be now. We’re in the exact position Sis went to Northampton to avoid. Hence all the uninsured freehold bollocks.
Absolutely agree. You could see it in the players' contracts. Until recently we had nobody with a contract beyond the five years, that's beginning to change now and King has probably decided to make a longer game of it.See my theory for a while has been the 5 years thing isn’t random and he’ll look to sell after five years if we don’t go up. This kind of makes me thinks that’s the case even more. And maybe we do, I just think it’s more about that than anything immediate.
Or maybe he’s going to drop £20m in a week and make us promotion contenders too
you seriously don't think owning the ground doesnt make us a more attractive option to potential buyers. I'm lost for words.Maybe. I dont know the financials. If we’ve just taken on a load of debt to finance a loss making business I’m not sure how true that is. We as fans make a big thing about owning grounds but it doesn’t seem to stop some of the most valuable clubs on the planet.
In no way are we in the exact same position.
We never owned the Arena then, we do now.
And if you think the council never tried to fuck the football club over thenI don't know what to say.
If you weren't convinced before they handed wasps a 250 year lease you definitely should have been afterwards.

It’s on a different level to us of course but the Tottenham stadium is owned by the club and has transformed its value.Maybe. I dont know the financials. Complete aside but also fuck all the way off with prompting the Doug King song after the announcement and unless I missed it dropping Take Me Home Highfield Road from the playlist.
