We need another CB minimum - it’s not even a debate and as Simms and Bassette seem frozen out another forward. It’s absurd to suggest another CB isn’t needed
Fortunately the manager agrees with me
He didn't suggest that though. Stop spinning stuff to suit your stance.
It's obvious we need another CB...at least.
My point stands you goon. He didn't suggest that like you said he did. What stance? It’s hardly controversial
Never heard of him, would only make sense if MvE was offOne journo crediting us with an interest in this lad... (Another right back!)

He can play as a right wingerGot to be MVE off then, but we have 3 LB so were making the RB postion equal lol
Look at the other clubs linked. We haven't a chance. On to the next! One journo crediting us with an interest in this lad... (Another right back!)
I believe both players will leave.Silva has said Godo will likely be allowed to go but feels Fulham are light on the wings. The noises from Ipswich suggest Woolfenden has basically asked to leave to play more. I do think both those get done at the very least. The fact their managers are speaking about them suggests things are moving.
I don't know what you're going on about honestly. It hasn't happened so it's completely irrelevant.
What a name, sign him up.
JMR x EMC x KKH x MVE x JDS x BTA

It really doesn't, you're essentially asking if Dasilva was a better player would he be worth more, which is ridiculous. It’s not irrelevant because that’s exactly the case with Woolfenden which is the point you are arguing.
Going up as a promoted team and playing a few games in the prem doesn’t make you a prem player. It means you were one cog in the wheel of the whole team that went up but when you come back down it doesn’t mean you are suddenly so much more valuable than other players in the league cause you went up just for one season and when you did you only played 13 games

2nd bid incoming and he's wants to leave, hopefully it's happening, maybe Ipswichs bid have had a second bid accepted for that CH they want either way fingers crossed
Woolfenden has played regularly for a team that accumulated 96 points in this division and is well liked by the fanbase. I'm not sure why you've decided he's shit and some sort of equivalent to Latibeaudiere or Dasilva to be quite honest. Is it because he's got a shit name? I genuinely think that does him no favours with people on here and I'm not even joking.
It's Sportsboom... has no-one learnt...2nd bid incoming and he's wants to leave, hopefully it's happening, maybe Ipswichs bid have had a second bid accepted for that CH they want either way fingers crossed
Another signing for blues
To be honest I've never heard of sports boom so I don't know if it's a creditable site or full of shitIt's Sportsboom... has no-one learnt...

I said Gilchrist lost his place in defence to a midfielderNo that’s not what I’m saying.
I’m saying you could be any player who plays in a team that goes up, comes back down, it doesn’t make you a premier league player and worth more just cause you played a few games in the prem and your team got promoted.
It is a team sport. Some players carry others. The season we got to playoff final Ben Wilson won golden glove and had something like 22 clean sheets, was there loads of stand out games where he was pulling off blinders? No there wasn’t, in some of them games he hardly had anything to do cause the defence in front of him was doing well. If we went up and came back down you don’t then think oh Ben Wilson is a premier league keeper, look at how many clean sheets they had when they went up…. He’s still a very average player who played in a team that did well but then perhaps wasn’t good enough to make the step up so only played a hand full of games and that could be for whatever reason, could be they had players out injured, could be that some needed a rest or whatever and THAT is the point I am making
I don’t want us going and spunking that much money if he’s not considerably better than what we already have as we are no further forward. If the right player isn’t available right now then just get a loan for now to plug the gap as a bench filler and we will look again in January.
As mentioned, I think David O’Day said Alfie Gilchrist isn’t that good but I’d start there if we only need someone to fill the bench but can cover a few positions. Do Burnley still have an abundance of centre backs?
Is Woolfenden considerably better than Thomas for that price range is what I’m saying or are we better off waiting and just getting a loan in for now

I think the financial risk involved in trying to assemble a team that can challenge for autos is too great. The expenditure needed to get our squad there would be significant and then if you miss out, yes you're in the playoffs, but they are very unpredictable.
I think aiming for 3rd - 6th is the only viable option for the money we can spend without risking our future. You just have to use a good model to build, sell at the right time/ price and reinvest. It took Brentford 10 years of trying before they finally got promoted. But then they weren't a flash in the pan, they had the foundations to keep building.
I don’t think aiming for 3-6 is a thing. You aim 3-4 or 5-10 and we’re 5-10 at the moment and those teams almost never get promoted.
No that’s not what I’m saying.

Tbf I think that’s a fair point. Just because Woolfenden was part of Ipswich’s promotion team doesn’t mean he’s a top quality player at this level. He may have been the worst player in the regular starting XI purely because they had very little else to choose from. I’m not stating that as a fact obviously, because I don’t follow Ipswich, but it’s a possibility. On the flip side, he could be a top quality player for us, I just think it’s hard to get massively excited or be massively negative about him atm.
I said Gilchrist lost his place in defence to a midfielder
Woolfenden is a very good CB who has played 40 games in a Championship winning team and then 15 games in the PL. We need someone who can challenge the CBs not a bench warmer.
So what you’re saying is, he could be shit or he could be incredible?
5th to 10th? Do you think there's 9 clubs in a better position than ourselves?I don’t think aiming for 3-6 is a thing. You aim 3-4 or 5-10 and we’re 5-10 at the moment and those teams almost never get promoted.
Any side getting promoted would have lots of players not good enough for the Prem. Spending £100m would most probably still have us near the bottom of the Prem table.Let’s say we did get promoted, would Woolfenden be good enough to start in the prem? Is he going to get better with us? Or would we be buying more players that we are then stuck with should we go up who aren’t going to be at that level to play week in week out.
Hughes for example, is still only going to get better from here on. While he might not be Prem ready right this second he’s going to get better.
I personally just don’t want us spending anything over £4m on Woolfenden who will have a contract for no less than 3 years and if that’s what the figure is then look for a loan with where we are currently at in the transfer window
