He's out of contract at the end of the season so they aren't in a position to get a massive fee, but 2m seems ridiculous.

Got to be £5m+ surely.

As @Ccfcisparks said, I don’t think we need that. If he plays alongside Kitching and just has to find either him or Grimes, I think his pace and defensive qualities are what could make it work.

They’ve rejected £3.5m from Sassuolo, why would they accept £2.5m? And how many centre backs do Sheff Utd need?

Big bollocks bling needs to walk into the Millwall dressing room and drop £5m in cash on the desk and get the deal done.

Did someone say on here he had a release clause,if so I think he may want the same again which would make him less attractive from our point of view.

It's worth the cash just so we can make singing the Thomas the Tank theme a thing tbf. Poor f*cker running the AV stuff would have to play it before games, too.

Why would Millwall accept half what we turned down for Thomas. I'll take that with a pinch of salt.

How long is his contract?

Yeah I think it’s a ridiculous amount tbh, absolute steal that price but isn’t he out of contact at the end of the season?

Think i read something he has a clause that's quite low, but only if it's a Prem team.

Not sure how true that is as seems ridiculous to add a low release clause for the few teams that can afford inflated prices.

They're two, they're four, they're six, they're eight
Down the wings and in defence
In monzo pink and in sky blue
They're the really useful crew
Frank has only one way to play
At the CBS or Portsmouth away
They will drive you round the bend
Thomas Tanganga engine

Yes they probably will but they have sold about 60 million's worth of talent (so far) so clearly the parachute payments weren't enough.

I’d much sooner sign Hughes who is better on the ball. One of our challenges is that opposition managers now organise their press to isolate Thomas on the ball. Sunderland did it brilliantly against us.

Doubt it's solely based on needing to sell. Players want to play at high levels too. Broad head alone wanted the move.

Think he was briefly available for a PL.side for £1.5 but that release clause has passed.

Tricky thing for us as the transfer window edges towards a close, is that the longer it goes on, the less chance of quality permanent signings, as the selling club will likely have to find a replacement (unless they are a player from a higher up team with an overloaded squad). This may result in us having to return to the loan market to plug any holes in the squad (likely younger 'prospects'), which is not ideal, given requirements for playing time, plus the cb position (s) looking vulnerable, and not an area you'd want to take a risk with.

I him we got to the play offs in 2023 with loan players in the defence. Indeed I remember a game when, at one stage we had an all loanee defensive line up
