Who would have thought? A transfer ban affecting a transfer.

The rumour regarding Ruduoni could only be a distraction that the club is happy to see.
Especially as our transfer dealings are taking longer than they would like.
At the end they f the transfer window if he’s still here we will all be relieved.

The best moment of my CCFC supporting life in that run, not to be sniffed at. But it sure did derail the league season before we ditched the wingbacks and adapted.

Each to their own I guess but I loved travelling all over the place in the 80’s and watching occasional wins with the regular 200 or so fans that bothered to go then for unfashionable games.

Special brew and fags on the train. Running the gauntlet just great.

We beat Stoke 3 nil once in the early 80’s and there were so few fans going to the station they stuck us in a police van and it got kicked to shit driving through the Neanderthals

Old Trafford they tried to piss on you from the stand above.

I don't know if this has been mentioned recently as I zoned out with all the player slatting, but I see Jesper Daland CB from Cardiff is in talks with an unnamed club. Also fits the random initials someone put up the other day JD

Doubt it was even referring to a transfer

BBC has it as 10m

Torbjorn Heggem transfer: West Brom defender moves to Bologna for £10m

West Bromwich Albion defender Torbjorn Heggem signs for Serie A club Bologna for a fee in the region of £10m.

i wouldn’t have missed the adrenaline rush that was the 70’s & 80’s. Glad it ended and sanity was restored but by christ it was character building. Anybody who has stood on Gosford Green or Pork Chop hill and saw the Red Army or the Zulus or the ICF marching to the ground and didn’t shit themselves is a better man than me.

I was going to say. Most of those in their 20's and early 30's only have games like the Wolves game, or the playoff semi's.

Those older are spoilt for choice in comparison

It’s been great that the youngsters have been to Wembley 4 times, I was 22 first time and then well into my 50s the next time

My first away game was against Stoke in the fa cup 1987, aged 15, being kept in by the exit gate after the game and remember Stoke fans hurling bottles and bricks over the wall.

Every player in our squad has a price on his head that we could not refuse. Really doesn't matter if it is a Prem team or a Championship side. We would prefer not to sell to a rival, but money talks.
If any of the clubs mentioned meet the price for our players we will sell. A rule of football that applies to every team (even Real Madrid these days).
What complicates matters is if a player is agitating for a move. See Isak at Newcastle.
The price will surely reflect how near the end of the window we are, contract outstanding and availability of a suitable replacement.
Hindsight is a wonderful thing, but we sold Wilson and Maddison below what we could have got.
King got top dollar for Vic and Gus and despite earlier concerns I feel he knows what he is doing when it comes to negotiations.
Championship players simply don' t often go for the amounts quoted on here.

All of my dad’s family went to the 87 final and they can all still describe it like yesterday. Pity that VAR robbed us of a final ourselves but that minute of celebrating was unbeatable.

Well…. It does.. imagine we signed a replacement midfielder today, then Rudoni breaks his leg at the weekend.

It’s just not that desperate a situation.

The bigger risk is selling Rudoni and not replacing him adequately. If that leads to results tailing off and another year in the ‘5 year plan’ passes by without getting closer to the Prem… There’s a real possibility that we’re forced into a full rebuild if more players end up leaving because the project no longer seems realistic.

I may rue these words but I’m just not worried about him leaving this summer.

I think that was always the plan, he’s not going this season, he played 50 odd games last Season and will probably start most of them this season, wev’e got KKH when he does need a rest

Wembley was the pinnacle but Man Utd away , Sheff Wednesday away and the SF were something else for the noise created by the Cov fans. Something I will never forget either

Of course. My dad has the photos from the rounds leading up to it and the final, they always took one as a group outside the grounds. Fairly brave doing so at Old Trafford I must say

One of my all time least favourite modern football words...but yes that may well happen. Would be slightly irritating if the players responsible for said 'project' not working out then didn't realise the connection, but there we are.

But kudos to you G for going to those kind of games. I went to loads of away matches in the early 80s (I'm older than I might look ) but gave any trouble a wide berth.

Could do, I still think someone will come in for him last minute though. Club can’t win, it was 100% the right call to buy KKH and also reject lowball offers for MvE but this is the risk. I could just imagine the meltdown if MvE had been sold, we’d missed out on KKH earlier in the summer waiting for MvE to go first and Lati was currently filling in !

That’s football though, it’s complicated
