Everyone we've signed with Lampard in charge would have been players we would have been interested in anyway.

Grimes?

Before Lampard we were signing players we could make money on. We will lose on Grimes but was worth every penny.

Lampard himself said he was a player the recruitment team had liked for sometime ….. maybe Lampard helped attract him but he was already a target.

People forgetting Lampards apparent lack of pull is one of the reasons Rudi has not agitated for a move this summer

That's rediculous, just look at the top class players he did manage to bring here.

Simms
BTA
Collins
Raphael
Lats

.....oh wait, .... hang on...

In all seriousness though, he did fantastically well to improve us year on year, on a shoe string budget. What he managed to achieve under SISU was nothing short of miraculous.

Robins and Lamps are completely different animals in career and stature. If Robins, AV and DL hadn't of done the work they did Lamps would not of entertained the idea of taking the job on.

The foundation was built with MR and co and for that they deserve massive massive credit and respect always from the fans. They put us in the news, they hightened the profile and brought success to what was a dead duck. Lamp due to this knew the club was sort of a perfect fit and since he came in has no doubt took us to another level. He will attract better players but the clubs position also helps to recruit as we are looked as a big club .

So every single person has played a role in where we are, but same as players, all need to find a level the club needs to do the same

Richard Kone is of heavy interest from several Championship teams.

Leicester City (bizarrely) are the most recent club who have enquired about the Wycombe forward.

Swansea, Preston and Coventry are also keen on the striker. Swansea have seen two bids rejected recently by Wycombe, reportedly at around £4 million.

Wycombe are reportedly wanting £5 million to even consider selling the highly-regarded forward.

It's bizarre that a kid who's only had 1 decent season in league 1 can be valued at £5Million.

We've already got Bassette and Obikwu at U21 level, and 3 first team strikers, so I can't see Doug having any of this nonsense.

I feel the same, think the way values have gone is ridiculous now.

No way a league one player with a single decent season is worth any more than £2 million max.

No, he hasn't.

He's only had just over half a season, which is no time to make a proper judgement. He may take us to the next level, which is obviously promotion, but he hasn't done that yet.

We sold Callum Wilson for £3m after one good L1 season and considered that an underpay.

Richard Kone: Swansea City favourites to sign Wycombe striker

Swansea City emerge as favourites to sign Wycombe Wanderers striker Richard Kone, despite a bid from Preston North End.
www.bbc.co.uk

The Coventry interest came from one of their other representatives on Twitter earlier, so added that in.

Scouted are REALLY high on Kone. They had him in their best under-the-radar U23 strikers in all of Europe article a month or two back. Named him alongside guys like Franjo Ivanovic who just moved to Benfica for £25m.

Norwich City closing in on Lincoln City winger Jovon Makama.

No clue who he is but Lincoln fans believe he's a star for the future. Scored two goals in three minutes in a pre season game a few days back.

Fair play to Wycombe holding out. We'll get the usual 'league 1 player' rubbish on here but he's incredibly highly rated and if we want him we'll have to cough up as we won't be the only show in town.

Kind of. The article was basically “if you can’t afford the best strikers in Europe (Vik/Isak/Ekitike) here’s who you should look at” and Kone was at the top in the Vik ‘Power Forward’ category.

I'm definitely on the side of getting a good centre back over a striker now.

Pacey, good passer and strong. Thomas and Kitching are okay but we do need better to push for promotion.
