Would take him on loan but wouldn't want us spending 6m on him , seems a gamble ?

Doubt it'd be £6m.

Would sincerely hope not but that's the number being banded about

Having Wilson and Collins as our GK options is a bigger gamble

He was injured

Was good at Swansea and obviously good with ball at his feet

Based on the 23/24 season, which you kept bleating on about when it came to talking about Wilson, Simms and BTA

Don't think I've ever bleated on about Wilson or BTA to be honest . Still think Simms has something to offer but I'm open to opposing opinions

Maybe I'm biased because I really like Dovin, but bringing in a Prem loan for the year would be a smart move IMO.

Surely we can get Rushworth on loan no? Pointless slinging 6 million at a keeper when we can all see Dovin has to potential to become something really special

I mean we can but a free transfer is going to be less fussy on playing time as and when Dovin gets back. A loaned keeper clearly won't join if he thinks he's going to be displaced during his spell anyway.

Loan to buy possibly. Gives us a year to get rid of the chuckle brothers

They don’t need money, Chelsea give them usually at least £70m every season!

It’s just potential right now, and he’s also suffered a horrendous injury that he may not fully recover from. I don’t think we are going to spend £6 million on a keeper but we do need to be investing in one that can replace Dovin for good if needed, as there’s no guarantee he comes back the same player.

Loan with buy option if we get promoted would suit both parties imo.

Almost as stupid as you thinking Wilson starting on the first day wouldn't be a catastrophe

Because he made a mistake in a preseason friendly?

Wilson was generally fine when he played last season.

Do you have to try and " point score" in every post , it becomes very tedious after a while . You're generally a decent poster , we're all on an internet forum stating opinions there's no prize to be gained

I don’t know about needing the money and have no info on a possible Rushworth deal but Brighton currently have the third largest squad in Europe and need to offload some players.

You were doing the exact same thing the other day. You were laughing at me about Wilson, I am yet to hear an apology from you

I definitely wasn't , we were exchanging views over why we hadn't signed a keeper as of yet and you called me simple to try and emphasise your point .
Look at the first post on your poll thread to see my thoughts on Wilson

Wilson is a capable no 2 in the championship for next season until Dovin is back. The club will bring a no1 in before the season starts on a season loan or a short term contract.

It really makes no sense to try to make a no 1 out of Collins, Bell or Wilson they are simply not up to the task. Collins having no minutes is a big indicator they are trying to move him on.

Could it be the case that unwanted goalkeepers are not that easy to be rid of. One reason is that they will not want a pay cut (moore).

In Lampard’s tenure at both Everton and Derby, he brought in a number of loan signings. You would assume that he’s still got contacts and reasonable pull… I’m not saying he’s going to bring in Sterling but he must have players he could bring in on loan. Sheff Utd used their loans to the max last year, brought in some good talent.

I think Collins unsuccessful run in the side after Dovins injury sealed his fate . He's a very good keeper with his feet , he just lacks the mentality and confidence to be a good all round keeper

Collins wage is probably the reason he isn't already gone. Doug doesn't seem to like paying up contracts so unless we get an offer we are stuck with him. I just hope that doesn't effect the ability to bring in a proper no 1 until Dovin is back

I don't know but I wouldn't think he's a big earner , his fee was fairly nominal
