Dolan would be someone to compete with Sakamoto for the starting position on the right. Lawrence would be squad depth, mainly to cover Rudoni for a few mins here and there. I doubt the 2 are related at all, if we are even actually interesed in one or both of them.

If we aren't in the market for another goalkeeper then there is no way we can afford Dolans inflated wages or substantial signing on fee.
And as for Lawrence we are way past the days when he is seen as a positive signing
It's a no for me for both

CB but can play CDM. Quite often young CBs get chucked in at full back for their first few games as a slightly less critical position if they make any fuck ups

Who says we aren't in the market for a keeper or that we can't afford Dolans wage? It's all complete guess work, no one knows what's going on.

Everyones talking about us like it's the penniless SISU days. It's weird and actually it's happened pretty much every window since King has taken over and yet we've gone on to do substantial business in all of them.

We have done substantial business but it's also been done in a pragmatic way and not in a reckless way

I know, which is good. Again we have no idea what is available to Lampard this summer. Why are you suggesting just about anything would be reckless at this point?

I haven't said anything would be reckless , I just don't want us overpaying for players like Dolan who seems to have an inflated value on himself

i mean do people think we don't need back ups who can do a few roles and won't kick off if not playing

if not lawrence then we could do with a similar profile player

I don't want us overpaying but tbf we have no idea what Dolan values himself at as he's not signed anywhere yet. Obviously if Wolves are in as suggested we never stood a chance, if Bristol or Derby then I'm sure we could have competed if we were ever interested.
Either way I think actually he'd be considered a fairly pragmatic signing, in that, signing on fee or not, he'd gain value the moment he signed that contract.

Agreed, we could do with moving out some of the squad bloat from other areas to look at areas where we have little to no cover.

I think the squad depth is quite good at the moment, what we probably need is a couple of signings with a bit more mojo.

Think centre back and possibly centre forward we need a couple of players who will compete for a starting place and improve the starting xi

Think it’s just about depth quality now TBH if we don’t sell anyone. The first team of:

Dovin
MvE Thomas Kitching KKH
Sheaf/Torp Grimes Rudoni
Saka Wright EMC

Is OK, I still think it needs better at CB. The second string though of:

Wilson
?? Lats Binks MAB
Sheaf/Torp Eccles Allen
Rapha Simms BTA

Definitely needs some work.

Think of if I had my way a CB and winger who are first team quality and an attacking mid who we can develop into that would be targets. Maybe another winger IF Rapha doesn’t develop and another CM if Andrew’s doesn’t. Then get rid of some of the deadwood at CB LB and CM. I wouldn’t be breaking the bank for a striker with Wright still here. If MvE goes get a first team LB and move KKH across. And then a backup RB as well ofc.

I get this point but on the second team, you have KKH and Wright to cover the roles mentioned.

Beauty of a few of our players is the versatility they bring, like KKH could play RB, LB, RW, LW and therefore can cover four play roles

Well you don’t cos they’re in the first team. Even with them Wilson in goal? A CB pairing of Kats and Binks? Allen Torp and Eccles in midfield with all the physical presence of Casper the ghost. Rapha in the first team?

There’s a lot to be done. Or a lot of stepping up required from fringe players who looked well off the level last year.

That's not quite how a squad works though. It's not team A and B it's fluid between the two. So we bring in MAB at LB to give MVE a rest and KKH plays right back. Also right goes left wing to give Mason Clarke a break and Simms in for Wright if a rest is needed.

Where I think we lack is out and out match winners and a bit of pace on the wings. I am hoping George from Chelsea comes in as he offers this off either wing and maybe a keeper to come in as Dovin while excellent will need time to get back up to speed and should any rehab not go perfectly we can't really on current options for too much of the season!

Without interest in Lati, Binks, and Simms we have built up a fair bit of deadwood. I say that, if someone could physically put some fire in Simms' belly we'd be sorted up front.
