We haven't been linked with many players at all other than those that don't seem to be true.No it doesn't but it's the perceived simplicity of bringing in another goalkeeper.
From memory I haven't seen one single link linking us with a goalkeeper
The squad is pretty healthy as a whole and ready to compete in the higher reaches of the championship. I think we need another centre back and starting the season with Wilson isn't ideal but we aren't in a bad placeFeels like the only way we sign someone to improve the first XI is if MVE and Vik move this window. I get Brau might, but that's not a given. Been spoiled for a few windows where we added someone of that standard, often a few in one window.
Both the Brau singing and the KKH signings were both announced well in advance . There have been mutterings about other players maybe out of our reach but I still haven't seen one mentioning a goalieWe haven't been linked with many players at all other than those that don't seem to be true.
How have you come to that conclusion?
So no links other than the two players we have signed. Both the Brau singing and the KKH signings were both announced well in advance . There have been mutterings about other players maybe out of our reach but I still haven't seen one mentioning a goalie
CB with 2 feet according to FM! Was very good for me on loan in the VNL then walked straight into the Coventry first team as we got relegated to L1Is perry a right back?

Dovin is our number one and if he’s going to be back as soon as October/November I would stick with Wilson until that time, unless there is a significant upgrade out there which I asked if anyone could name but someone get their panties in a twist over.
Could be wrong, but I thought I saw October/November quoted, if not then that’s on meOctober being mentioned now
Dovin will be back for the first game at the rate people keep shortening his recovery in their head
Not officially but saddle suggested it as a possibleCould be wrong, but I thought I saw October/November quoted, if not then that’s on me
Better than a CB with only 1 foot I suppose.CB with 2 feet according to FM! Was very good for me on loan in the VNL then walked straight into the Coventry first team as we got relegated to L1

If anything i think it would be a Prem GK on loan. We're most probably still a couple of weeks away from Prem loans happening.
Just based on last season I think Torp is ahead of Sheaf
If Milan doesnt go by the first game, he will start RB with KKH LB
The problem is being able to shift either of them. It won't be easy.True. But I still think one keeper would have to go before for that could happen.
Maybe we can sell a few middling squad players to fund the mini refresh insteadSee I had accepted him going but now I want to see this.
Also love we have four LBs and one RB in that case.
Wilson is only our second choice keeper atm because our actual second choice has fallen off a cliff. What's the point of a second choice keeper if you want to sign a new first choice keeper everytime he's needed?
I get it if it's long term. But he showed Vs Boro he can do a job so in short term he can help us be competitive until dovin comes back hopefully in november
Maybe we can sell a few middling squad players to fund the mini refresh instead
Don’t do this Tom. I’ll be planning a raid for bringing Gus home next.
The addition of Grimes changes things. He does a similar role to Sheaf, but he is better at it.
If you were one nil up with ten minutes to go away at Sheffield United, you would want both of them on the pitch, but for the large part playing them both together will only hold us back. Sheaf will want to go forward, but he really isn't that kind of player. He slows down our attacks and can't shoot or set up a final pass. That is however, something that Torp can do.
A midfield three of Grimes, Rudoni, and Torp is quite exciting and would get the most out of the team. I agree that we need to have better defensive options for certain times, just not all the time. With Grimes here, he should be playing every minute, but I cannot say the same for Sheaf. Given that he has a lot of questions over his ability as a captain too, I really think we should be looking to move him on for these reasons. I am just not sure anyone is going to want to buy him for a respectable enough price.
I think we are also overlooking Eccles who is more than capable, and Allen who can do a job if necessary. These players don't probably get enough credit in that respect.
This is what makes me laugh. Players like Eccles are supposedly not good enough and need to be shifted but the same people are happy to start the season with Wilson and Collins. The main thing is with Grimes, Rudoni, Torp, Sheaf, Eccles and Allen it gives us various permutations around formations and tactics. How we set up away from home might differ to home matches, they give us options off the bench.
I certainly haven't bought into this theory that Frank Lampard doesn't rate Eccles. It wouldn't surprise me if Stoke or Middlesbrough came in for him. I still see him as a player who is improving
Yep. If you have a midfield 3 of Grimes Torp and Rudoni and you need to shut up shop, it's Eccles you bring on before Sheaf. The main thing is with Grimes, Rudoni, Torp, Sheaf, Eccles and Allen it gives us various permutations around formations and tactics. The point will be moot because Milan is leaving. Even more convinced given he has just signed up with a new agency. He’s never played regularly at this level, is new to the country, doesn’t really speak the language, and has had a spotty injury record. I would bet on him becoming the eventual starter but I think it’s quite reasonable to expect a lengthy adjustment period and it’ll be a genuine contest between him and Dasilva at the start of the season.
There’s a chance that KKH is a better Championship left back than any of them, and for as long as there’s a logjam at his preferred position then I wouldn’t be surprised to see him start there - he didn’t sign to sit on the bench.
Has that phrase ever actually come to fruition?like a new signing

Does anybody else find it sickening how Sunderland are now flinging around 20m bids all over the show. Just some weeks ago we were a Haji Wright header away from knocking them out of the play offs.
I appreciate that they sold Jobe Bellingham for 30m but, they have already spent 32m on Diarra, 23m on Le Fee, 20m on Talbi, 20m on Sadiki and about to get Adingra for 20m from Brighton. That is 100m plus and it's only mid July.
It's silly and just shows the gulf in money if you go up. They will still come back down too!
The gap is now just a joke and it feels like it will only get bigger. The way players values are going up, it's worth than the housing market!
Just makes me sad... rant over.
Not really - they are coming straight back down.
I agree, last season was embarrassing with all 3 effectively down with about 10 games to go!Wouldnt be so sure
The way they play will suit the prem. They sit and soak up pressure then hit on the counter with players with pace to burn, Isidor, Mayenda, Mundle etc
I still think they'll come down, but i don't think it will be done by Christmas like the 3 last season
what on earth does this even mean. The best way to play when you go up is how they play, counter attacking, soak up the pressure with a good defence and use the pace and flair of your forwards to hit on the break. If we went up I’d want 4 replacements for our backline the only one to stay being MvE. Attacks win games Defences win titles (or in our case would keep you up)
Let it go - no point. Done now.Does anybody else find it sickening how Sunderland are now flinging around 20m bids all over the show. Just some weeks ago we were a Haji Wright header away from knocking them out of the play offs.
