That's true but Allen has done more than enough to earn a free transfer if that's what he wanted. I'm pretty sure he's sticking aroundBut then they dont get a fee. Same with the Shipley situation.

we've probably extended it to get a nominal fee. I'd imagine theres a move lined up probablhy waiting to announce July 1stThat's true but Allen has done more than enough to earn a free transfer if that's what he wanted. I'm pretty sure he's sticking around
if we can find away of making a Grimes/Sheaf midfield work then you stick with that.
Yeah. sheaf is one of the best midfielders in the league ability wise but is similar to Grimes who is even better.A lot to be said for that. I still feel we need another midfielder even if we don't lose anybody, if you want real strength and depth.
Agree, don’t sell Sheaf, if he stays fit and pairs up well, why sell?Yeah. sheaf is one of the best midfielders in the league ability wise but is similar to Grimes who is even better.
If this summer we can work on a midfield set up that works with both of them in as those two and Rudoni are a top, top championship midfield.

Can’t see us paying the 2.5 million asking price for a cover player
He agreed a contract where the club could extend it by a year. They are protecting their asset. Why would they agree to a free transfer if he they could get a small fee? That's true but Allen has done more than enough to earn a free transfer if that's what he wanted. Is Rooney their manager now?I've just had a message from my 80 year old mother saying she's heard a rumour that we are after Colby Bishop from Pompeyshe's a definite itk

PreciselyBecause they don't intend to sell. Every player has a price.. But if they wanted to move him on, why trigger a clause to run the risk of being stuck with him.
What nonsense.. If we can get a fee for him we should … we are running a business not a charity. That's true but Allen has done more than enough to earn a free transfer if that's what he wanted. I'm pretty sure he's sticking around
They did the exact same with Shipley and sold him within a month of him extending the contract. We may well end up keeping him but if he leaves we get a fee which is still more than letting him go which you seem to be advocating.Because they don't intend to sell. Every player has a price.. Could replace some of the driftwood.Travis would be a good pick up, someone would be moved on if this has anything in the link. Its one i would not be surprised in at all.
Yeah Lampard mentioned it I think. The telegraph confirmed it after it (or reiterated Lampards comments)Silly question but have we had it confirmed Sheaf has an extension? I couldn’t see it in the original statement on his contract.

It would have been triggered automatically. If they intended to move him on they wouldn't have triggered the extension in my opinion. They would have just let him find a new club.
Not automatic on allens case. Club optionIt would have been triggered automatically.
Believe we had an interest in Galbraith about three summers ago when Chris Badlan was still around. I was told at the time some off field temptations were his main issue. Seems to have kicked on and done well the last season or two.Ethan Galbraith could be a good cover at right back and midfield. Huddersfield, Charlton and Swansea have had bids turned down already this summer.

Then prepare to be wrong in the not too distant futureUnder contract a player only moves if it suits them. My point is a lot of fans see Allen (wrongly) as a get rid of player.
I don't see him as FL wants to get rid. Yes and offer might come in that suits Allen and the club.
But that is a long long way from certain fans putting him in the bin and he is going.
It's bollocks. Shipley was a deal that suited him and us. It wasn't a plot to get rid of Shipley and make money![]()

Don’t be harsh on yourselfI don't rate me.
yeah, he is just not at the level we want to be atI don't rate me. I have watched him loads of times. Connor Coventry looks a better option a shame Charlton got promoted
Sorry I missed it, what was the jist of what was said?Lampard has mentioned it.

I hope not. I have not been particularly impressed when he has come up against us. Looks average at best.![]()
