I do think Milan is most likely to be off, most likely Fulham. Everton not interested in him as they are likely to sign Fulham's right back on a free.

Everton lost about 50 million plus of players who they paid transfers fees for as they ran down their contracts. So I can see why they are trying to do the same. Seem nothing anywhere linking MVE with Fulham

The Fulham link for MVE was one of our own on here, forgive me for not remembering who, it was very cryptic but it was definitely saying MVE was going to them. He got the Brau transfer right a few weeks before it came about.

I would be surprised if MVE is still here by the time the transfer window closes

Honestly i know everyone loves a cry and a moan but its literally what you have to do. People talk about what they refer to as a Brighton or Brentford model but then get bent out of shape when a sale actually happens. If we get KKH for around 1/3rd of the MvE fee and have the rest to invest in other parts of the squad then ultimately we should end up better for it overall.

Yeah I don’t disagree mate at all.

We know from a couple of interviews at the tavern last year, players are brought in with the promise become a prem player with us or develop into one.

Part of our recruitment hinges on this promise and we need to prove it’s not empty words. Also it’s how the money keeps going without a big investor.

Just hope it happens quick as Boro are sniffing around KKH

Mostly due to the January links with MVE (plus Pete’s post)

The Fulham thread dismissed that rumour .

Would KKH be good enough to replace MVE, what is his personality like, would he fill that hole in the dressing room with MVE's Personality gone? Is he good on video?

His stats are arguably better than MVE’s and PNE conceded less goals than us.

I’d like to see MVE stay but if we sold him for a large profit and bought KKH as a replacement using a fraction of the profit… it wouldn’t be terrible business.

There's always an element of risk when bringing in a player that he wont be as good as the player hes replacing, no matter how much leg work the recruitment team have done.

Good business by West Brom bringing in Nat Phillips, no doubt King will be chasing a different target from some pub league instead

Both Brighton and Brentford spent way more than we will ever be able to to go up and establish themselves.

Yeh i'm not talking about establishing ourselves in the Prem, both those clubs went up at what seems like just the right time to lock themselves in the closed shop. I'm just talking about getting up and becoming a yo-yo team which is probably the best most clubs at this level can hope for atm.

The key is to do what Forest done in their first season back and stay up by any means necessary

To an extent. The drug baron's son was picking their transfers in the first couple of windows which is why they wasted so much money on crap.

I'd rather we went into it with a bit more of a strategic focus as it could've gone terribly for them.

We need a John Hartson/ Dion Dublin esque striker to get on the end of all these crosses.

See what happens when July 1st comes lot of player contracts finish 30th June. DK keeping info tight so as not to give other clubs the heads up selling or buying.

While that may be partly true all agents leak information so its very hard now to make a signing nobody is aware of in advance

Brooks was doing well towards the end of the season at Bournemouth, he’d be a major coup for the reasons you’ve pointed out.

Far more encouraging rumours than some rogue left back from a Sunday league team for the analysis guy to orgasm over

Yes hes the sort of signing we'd look at from a team in and around the top 3 and think thats great for depth.

Basically cheating but gambling on 1) gaining more points by having better players than were taken away by the league in penalties 2) being able to pay any fine with future profits from staying in the premier league.[/QUOTE]
