What ?

We have 2 fit strikers. Frank has no choice but to stick by both.

I don’t think Haji will leave but if he goes he will be replaced, in fact I think we might bring an additional striker in anyway …
I meant he’s picked wright over Simms even though Simms was scoring,

Hasn’t Haji just got a new agent? I didn’t think there was a chance we were selling him but these two things seem to be more than a coincidence.

Having said that, I did accidentally start following all 26 of Dua Lipa’s fan pages so I know first hand how you can accidentally click follow without realising.
...left-handed browsing??

i find that baffling.
the only explanation i have is that we are mid contract talks with haji. nothing else makes sense to me.

Just think Lampard still thinks an out of form wright is still a better option than Simms, look at the play off games, that just didn’t make sense, Simms never got a minute, but neither of them are really good enough

good point. although, there could have been a different reason at that point.
it is clear he prefers wright, but why you would actually drop a striker who is scoring is just beyond me. i support frank 100%, but that is just weird.

It’s a tricky one, trying to keep both of them happy you can quite easily piss both of them off, Simms must be thinking what do I have to do to start, what is it 6 goals in 7 games or something, you’d think he’d be starting every game, wouldn’t be surprised to see wright starting Sunday

It’s not weird it’s just we are not privy to all of the facts. You are making your assessment based on one metric. Which striker is scoring now.

Maybe the club are trying to get him to sign a new deal, maybe other clubs have approached his agent about a move in Jan and the club want to keep him for the rest of the season, maybe Frank thinks Wright will score more goals than Simms over the course of a season and just wants to get him scoring again, maybe he’s genuinely managing the minutes of our only 2 fit strikers.

There are so many possible reasons …..

...you just don't drop people who are scoring goals. it's kind of the whole point of the game, isn't it.

One Burnley fan on X thinks it’ll be a “ mint signing “… we’re going up and they’ll be coming down, bit of a mad one.. unless he’s been told if you’re playing in the prem might have a chance to get in the World Cup squad ? Jumping to conclusions but something’s been off with him, he only goes for the right price and if we get a replacement straight in…. Don’t think it’s true though
One thing i find funny is Haji’s incredible PR. EFL fantasy accounts, american tv accounts etc cant stop posting about him. Other fans think he would be a “mint” signing. He’s done nothing, literally nothing, for months now.
I used to defend and say he’d walk into any champ team, he still probably does, but fuck me if you’ve watched him recently rather than just looking at numbers you’d really be confused as to how he’s thought of like that.

I also find his fucking nickname “mantequilla” fucking hilarious. He is EVERYTHING but smooth like butter right now.

Exactly,They don’t see what we do every week, they just see he’s in a team top of the league but Lampard seems ok with what he’s doing though ? Most frustrating player ever, unplayable against Sunderland in the league last season then just goes missing for the 2 play off games, just doesn’t seem interested does he

But he contributed to the overall team though right? He assisted the equaliser in the play off final, i think the semi too and im sure if we looked back across those final games, contributed. I dont think there’s any argument that that team wasnt carried by Gyokeres and Hamer.

Like others have said on here, its not just the lack of goals from Haji. Its the lack of effort across the entire game. He just does not look arsed add that to the fact the only thing he can hit right now is the side netting and it aint a good look.
Cant make the same argument that Haji is carrying the team can we? Should we expect better from club record signing?

Anyway, we’re not letting wright go unless it’s for a decent fee and we’ve got somebody better lined up, shame we haven’t got viveash to have a “ quiet word “ with him
