He wasn't there Saturday.
However there was a bit of chatter that we had been looking at Jack Harrison. Apparently he has a good relationship with Lampard. I don't know if there is any truth in it.

He played under Lampard loads at Everton. I'd prefer Mcneil.

Harrison would be quality too but he’s 29 so I’d prefer McNeil

Richard Nixon beat him in the Year 3000 election and has never been the same since. I'd pass.

Dan Neil ended up as McNeil in a case of Chinese whispers was my guess.

So far the only concrete rumours are
Manneh
Varela

I agree but Harrison seems more realistic. McNeil has played in 4 of the their last 5 and Ndiaye is off to afcon.

Ah right, i did see the one about Dan Neil floating about on Twitter. What's the general thoughts on that one? I wonder if there is any truth in it.

Would be a top signing imo, wonder if its something we could pull off on a short term loan to buy

Sounds good to me, we're clearly lacking a CM since Sheaf leaving wasn't really planned but more a 'too good to turn down' kinda thing. Think he's an upgrade on Sheaf and given his contract situation he would probably cost less, so just another CCFC recruitment masterclass if it comes off really.

There were also reports that Harrison wouldn't be allowed to leave until they had a replacement so neither look like they would be quick transfers if we are interested.

I don't think it would be a bad option, a lot of experience and it sounds like he's not having a great time at Leeds. How true it is about him having a good relationship with Lampard i don't know.

Covers both wings and not in a position to come in and demand to be starting, i like the idea of a 6 month loan with option to buy.

Yeah i thought so, experienced at this level. Yeah from what i've heard Sheaf was very much a last minute thing and definitely too good to turn down.

With Lampards comments and the bids in the summer for Hughes, Godo etc. I’m sure we’re going to have a very busy January.

Harrison sounds disappointing after we've been going on about McNeil but given that was always likely bollocks and i think a highly unrealistic deal until we are hopefully promoted, i think Harrison on a deal that suits us makes sense. Til of of season with option to buy, think he could be a good one to bring in.
Harrison
Manneh
Neil
I think that gives us good options.

Mcneil has played 90 minutes all year. They may play him to get to the new year, but they will sign someone in January and he will go out on loan

I hope you're right. McNeil is a Premier League player imo and a deal with obligation to buy if promoted would be great. I still have some doubt we can pull it off however and i also am not sure where the rumour came from tbh.

Had a quick google. He seems to give a lot of credit to Lampard for his development. Found a good few articles to that effect

Perhaps there is some truth that we have had a look then. If they get on well maybe a short term deal would suit both parties. I suppose there will be a lot of factors. Are we looking with a view to prem, or just looking to get us over the line.

One thing Doug might want to think about is whether you will get a better deal on a player who is Prem ready now or if we went for them after we were promoted. I think the price would go up then.
So if Frank wants to strengthen for a push then he should find the money now.

I've just got this feeling we're going to pull off a major move for someone, just to really cement our position.

Might just be wishful thinking though

Which to be honest I’d rather avoid both and go for someone like McNeil if the option is there. Wishful thinking

I like the look of Manneh, looks like he could turn into something special. Plus he’s more of a 10 who can play on the wing. McNeil is an out and out winger

No he isn't...?

He can play either LW, RW or as an AM.

It's obviously his preferred position but he's played on both wings and dependant on formation in various other midfield roles.

I would've thought he'd be a lot more versatile than Manneh.

Should be looking at that ashford from Cardiff, really highly rated and having a good game against Chelsea

Id be happy with Manneh, Neil, Harrison and bring the Portuguese lad in to see what he has.

McNeil i would be shocked and surprise but he would be an unbelievable signing if anything is in it.

Pace, bit of bite and experience with those names.
