He actually has to run past them to try and get back.the thing is JDS doesn’t make a ‘mistake’ - yes he loses the ball, but that’s catered for in so far as Grimes drops in and the defence shift and cover, the problem then is you have another CM out of position (Eccles or Torp), Rudoni not covering back and also Kitching compounding things by heading / passing the ball to the opponent
The main issue is not clearing the ball after having the opportunity, and that, at the weekend, was down to Kitching

I agree it's a collective calamity at the moment down that side, there's no need for Kitching to step in twice. You can see he just wants to be a good defender and that's fine, but we are getting it wrong constantly. I'd just like to see us shore things up for a couple of games at least and try something different.

You can see what they're attempting, those little triangle passes, but it just seems messy. Teams have figured it out. With Onyeka in now, perhaps we could tuck the fullbacks in, push Grimes further up and let him be the one getting involved further forward in those triangles.My frustration is they are not needed and get in the way and make an extra pass necessary
