Let’s cut through all this tactical nonsense about JDS. The fact is he’s a poor player. His skill set is receive the ball from 5 yards and then pass it back.
Do you always dismiss tactics because you don’t understand them? Genuine question

the thing is JDS doesn’t make a ‘mistake’ - yes he loses the ball, but that’s catered for in so far as Grimes drops in and the defence shift and cover, the problem then is you have another CM out of position (Eccles or Torp), Rudoni not covering back and also Kitching compounding things by heading / passing the ball to the opponent

The main issue is not clearing the ball after having the opportunity, and that, at the weekend, was down to Kitching
Yeah, i meant mistake in the sense that he get's ahead of the 2 who are in that little triangle at the time. Whether it be EMC and Rudi, or on this occasion Esse and Rudi, he get's ahead of them and then can't recover, they never attempt to get back either. He actually has to run past them to try and get back.
I agree it's a collective calamity at the moment down that side, there's no need for Kitching to step in twice. You can see he just wants to be a good defender and that's fine, but we are getting it wrong constantly. I'd just like to see us shore things up for a couple of games at least and try something different.

Nonsense. He's going through a sticky patch, but has been excellent since the end of last season. He has the best first touch in The League.

Onyeka very much needed.
One quality winger signed in loan , one very questionable one.
One winger for next season - not what we needed now.
Other problem areas not addressed.
Halfway house window. A chance of promotion rather than a good chance of automatic promotion

That goal is down primarily to Kitch. Awful header, then followed the ball he was never going to win. Created a huge channel to be exploited.

Perspective.

a badly needed CM engine
A quality winger ready made in Esse
A permanent winger for the future
A young winger to give us depth at LM

I’d have like to release a LB and get a LB and a striker otherwise it’s a decent window.

My frustration is they are not needed and get in the way and make an extra pass necessary
You can see what they're attempting, those little triangle passes, but it just seems messy. Teams have figured it out. With Onyeka in now, perhaps we could tuck the fullbacks in, push Grimes further up and let him be the one getting involved further forward in those triangles.

yeah I see what you’re saying, and do you think that it requires a personnel change, or a tactical one?

got the wing depth we desperately needed and got a solid midfield engine that will be very, very, very good at this level

another lb maybe but they likely couldn't move any of the ones we have on to a new club

This isnt trolling, but genuinely wondering if Brandon Williams could be an option...

if you want a banging night out yes, lb not so much

we'd still need to move someone on or out the squad that that's a bit harsh considering Williams will likely fuck up off the pitch

It's a shame for him but he'd probably be a PL player if he wasn't such a bellend

Yep same. Just clutching at straws.

Really would like something different in that defence.
