Dan Neil is a signing i would have found acceptable. Would be happier with Onyeka though, or Hamer for that matter.
Hoping we're not being tight, now is not the time for it. If we lost out on Onyeka to someone like Blues i'd be raging given the position we are in.

Either way I don’t think he’s what we need most in midfield.

As predicted we’re gonna miss out on a midfielder

if we only get two loan signings after not really spending much in the summer we didn’t bring in

Neil would have been a quality addition, that said I don't think he is exactly what we want in midfield. Onyeka is the man.

Fuck all just going off the article in his thread which seems to be from someone with a contact reading between the lines on the other articles on that site.

And if it’s us vs Sheff Utd or Brum Doug would have to be extra tight for that to fall through.

I didn't click it, assumed it was the same vague drivel just repeated in a different place. Did the site look semi- legit?

I mean it’s full of ads but it’s also got exclusive stories about why Onyeka isn’t playing so could just be a larger scale Saddlebrains. Passed my five second sniff test. We’ll see. Certainly you’d expect Hamer to be causing more smoke considering half the fan base has him on speed dial if that was happening.

A larger scale Saddlebrains would be like some multi-kitman wanking machine. Probably well known in kitman the community.

Of all the names mentioned Onyeka is by far the best, and he would be good enough if, and when, we are promoted. He is also good enough to be adaptable like many premiership players so he could play alongside Grimes and not instead of.

Ipswich must be panicking, buying all these players is only going to guarantee them high wage bills. There are only 11 places up for grabs and could upset their camp by dropping players who won't even get in the match day squad

He's no stranger to casinos, including the one at the CBS. I've no idea if it's a problem and if he lets it affect his training and playing, but it would be a concern as an employer to know that he like more than just a flutter. Someone I know saw him lose big money up there, although they said he seemed to take it in his stride.

Honestly no.
I've only had 2 bits of info off him this window, that was about the winger in the championship and that we had made an enquiry to a Prem club about a midfielder, at that time he said the clubs couldn't agree on a valuation.
Then the link to Onyeka came out so i'm guessing it's him.
This was a while ago though so there was plenty of time to work on things from our point of view, different options, loan with obligation / option etc.
If he is our primary target then i think DK would keep at it. Look at last January, we agreed a fee for Grimes but couldn't agree a payment structure with Swansea for him straight away, but we got it done in the end. It sounds like DK is a good negotiator and from the Brentford managers comments, the player wants away for more minutes.
If he's the one, i hope we get it done, the exact sort of player we need.

Week left of the window and I really hope they are working on a decent midfielder option because it's going to end up costing us big time. Doug was prepared to splash £10m reportedly on a centre half Charlie Hughes so surely a big bid for a CM isn't out of the question and a decent left back option too. With these areas covered I really think we'd then have enough to get us over the line. I have a feeling it's going to be another long deadline day refreshing the page and at 7pm or whatever it is we'll get that concludes our business for the transfer window. Come on someone must have something that raises our hopes.

You bid £10m for Hughes cos you think he’ll be worth £20m in the future. Different to signing a 28yo reserve.

Sorry just using Onyeka as an example. I can see why Doug would want to negotiate down if we aren’t after an U23.

Totally agree it's ridiculous and I really hope they fail to get promoted. Parachute payments are an unfair advantage unless we go up and have them that's different

Ipswich not buying him by sound of it, it’s a loan until the end of the season despite him being out of contract in the summer. Would assume they’d have clause in place to sign him upon promotion.

Pretty sure he will get minutes when we are not trying to see a game out, like we have in the last two. EMC has been really on it recently so limits his chances. We have suffered from lacking back ups. That has now been partially addressed.
Portsmouth are a team of battlers. We are more sophisticated than that.
As a class act, attacking full backs he will fit right in.
There is a reason Real Madrid wanted to sign him.
