Any excuse to back Doug not spending a penny so far, it’s 1 player we need not 10 ffsHave you heard of parachute payments ? Are you aware of the income they generated from player sales in the summer ?
If not maybe have a look ….
When did we start believing Football League World rumours?Ipswich signing mehmeti and going after louza, meanwhile we seem to be not spending a penny! Surely Doug’s biggest admirers have to start getting concerned
You need both for different opponents and different match situations. Leaving wide open spaces for the opposition to waltz into on every counter attack isn't my idea of a good time either.I just think if you’re losing Torps forward attributes and replacing them with a pure destroyer with no attacking ability you’re going to have a bad time.
Add Sakamoto playing with MVE (Who seems to languish without him).He is actually other than Grimes and now probably Rushy the player we can ill afford to lose the most
We are twice the side when he is on the pitch in my opinion

I wasn't claiming it would , don't twist things as you usually do. Just pointing out a key difference for context.Stop using that excuse ffs, we haven’t spent a penny and we’re top of the league. We are crying out for a ball winning midfielder, It won’t bankrupt the club like all you bedwetters claim all the time
Last year Onyeka’s offensive stats, passing and shooting were generally above average his match rating was 6.94 for a whole Bundesliga season. I’ve documented his impressive defensive outputs elsewhere. Now, considering Augsburg finished 3 points above the relegation zone, it looks positive. I’m confident he’d do well in the Championship at the very least. It’d make a good signing for us even thinking ahead to next year.I just think if you’re losing Torps forward attributes and replacing them with a pure destroyer with no attacking ability you’re going to have a bad time.

If you bring Onyeka in, you have the option to perhaps play 4-3-3 or even Torp at AM. I don’t think it’s as straightforward as Torp being dropped for him.
To be honest, Ipswich’s recruitment policy seems to be geared towards creating a Championship super team.Have you heard of parachute payments ? Are you aware of the income they generated from player sales in the summer ?

I just think Eccles can do a job in that role.
He’s doing a good job of it so far and Eccles has been playing just as well as him of late.Torp can’t last an English season and hasn’t since he signed. You need him plus another.
Looks like Lampard wants to use Eccles further up the pitch to be honest. I guess my point is there isn't any of our midfielders you'd describe as a 'powerhouse' which is what I think it lacks.I think that’s fair. I just think Eccles can do a job in that role.
In a different universe Kyle McFadzean goes up against Haaland on the opening day of the 23/24 season...Kitching got turned by Ayew so imagine him against Haaland…
I thought Ayew was shite last week and barely looked a threat, myselfHe’s doing a good job of it so far and Eccles has been playing just as well as him of late.
You need something different and at a higher level than Allen. In the Prem, if you don’t have athleticism in every area of the pitch, you’ll be exposed.
At CB an CM, we’ve got good technicality but at times the athleticism isn’t there. Kitching got turned by Ayew so imagine him against Haaland…
I agree but there was that one moment where Kitching gets turned and in the Prem, we won’t get away with it as really.I thought Ayew was shite last week and barely looked a threat, myself
And we'd become the first ever Premier League team to finish on 0 pointsIn a different universe Kyle McFadzean goes up against Haaland on the opening day of the 23/24 season...

They might be in the same division as us but in terms of finances they are leagues away from us. If we can go up then we can match them but not until that happensHave you heard of parachute payments ? Are you aware of the income they generated from player sales in the summer ?

A few? We have 1 available space in our 25 man squad. Currently some of the bench wont even be on it once everyone is available again.DK needs to get some cash flowing we definitely need a few more signings to get us to the promised land.A CM is a must for me.
A) Doug King hasnt splashed any cash in buying the stadium.I appreciate that we're concerned we've not secured quality CM player so far. Hopefully, that'll be addressed soon.
However, for those asking for DK to "splash the cash" need to consider the outlay he's already made this season in buying the stadium and the two recent loans. I'd imagine that Esse loan fee and wages will be significant.
Based on what?A) Doug King hasnt splashed any cash in buying the stadium.
B) Id be highly surprised if there was any fee involved in loaning Esse and/or Minny. Id go as far as saying I highly doubt we'll be picking up their full wage. A percentage of it yes. But im pretty confident there wont be a loaning fee involved!

No loan fee for Esse? Have Crystal Palace become a charity?A) Doug King hasnt splashed any cash in buying the stadium.

I wonder if Jamie Allens mothers funeral today might have stalled any further announcements todayIt was announced that Shay Dunn signed earlier. Doesn't the club have a habit of two in one day announcements in the manner of one early on and then a bigger one later?
Very good point. But we all love a Friday evening announcementI wonder if Jamie Allens mothers funeral today might have stalled any further announcements today
Even before their parachute payments they were in a stronger financial position, they've got very wealthy owners and have a higher turnover £37.3m last accounts Vs £29m for us. Lots of fuss was made over their miracle double promotion but their wage bill in their last promotion season was £37m, which I'd suspect is the highest outside of the parachute clubs. Looks like they had something like £112m share capital invested to get them promoted last time. They might be in the same division as us but in terms of finances they are leagues away from us. If we can go up then we can match them but not until that happens

How does Ipswich and Boro keep buying players if you can only have 25?A few? We have 1 available space in our 25 man squad. Currently some of the bench wont even be on it once everyone is available again.
Which bit? That we didnt pay a fee? In 40 years of following football ive NEVER heard of such a thing. The borrowing club picks up a percentage or all of the wage dependant on the terms of the contract, but an upfront fee? To give your player some league experience and game time and ease your wage expenditure? Im not saying it doesn't/hasn't happened, but its highly irregular. Otherwise why isnt it spoken of in the articles released when signing a player?Based on what?
