Money from vik and Hamer was an amount of money that he was lucky to have
What did you disagree with

He had no money from the sales.

The club was rapidly losing money at circa £10 million a year. If sisu has remained in charge regardless of the sales we would be bust.

The money is not paid upfront and the club has no cash. It would have gone bust without someone injecting money - the sales did not help cash flow. King has had to invest substantial amounts from somewhere and thats regardless of the ground.

Shmmee is against buying the ground and had grudges. I have no idea how it was funded so he certainly doesn't.

Where is this supposed relationship with Sisu even evidenced? They approached William Storey first.

The point is King came in when a lot of the hard work had been done. Wasps had failed. The club was on track for promotion. We’d got two generational talents to sell. The fans were back on board. Most owners are not so lucky. This has of course triggered half the forum but it’s obviously true.

They clearly had a relationship
And certainly have had since which is good
Yep I think £45m has been put into the club
I’m not sure any is from his personal funds but I’d be happy to see evidence it has

I think it is people misunderstanding why some companies King was involved with having the the same postal address as some companies Sisu where involved with.

The address was just a mail box provider used by thousands of companies as their registered address.

We did see the directors loan on the accounts for thirty million.

Also saw the gifted equity of 15 million thus summer in the accounts.

Not an accountant tho so not sure these show what I think they do

2021/22 and 2022/23 were as good as it was EVER going to get under SISU and they were complete anomalies and that was because Robins had got together a decent crop of players on a shoe-string and had unearthed two phenomenal footballers for this level

Had SISU remained, it is my opinion Gyokeres would have been sold in Jan 2023, probably for pittance in comparison to what we got and we would have as we did the season before fallen just short of the play-offs

Robins would have probably seen it as job done stabilising the club in the Championship and gone elsewhere whilst his stock peaked, he wouldn't have took us any further - He was a lot closer to taking the Stoke job in Aug 2022 than people realise

Reckon the Ricoh would have crumbled too, Wasps would have been reborn as Coventry Wasps, Kevin Maton declared king of the world and Balti pies banned from sale.

Do you honestly believe SISU were or were ever going to run the club in a way that enabled it to be in the position it is now?

Something that's missed on this is that DK taking over when he did meant we maxed out on the value of Hamer and Gyokores. DK taking over was a 'sliding doors' moment for us, that has put us in this great position right now.

If SISU had instead remained at that point they would both been sold in the January window at no more than half the price we eventually sold them for. We would inevitably then not made the play offs that season or had the money to reinvest in the squad the following Summer, and we wouldn't be in the position we are now.

He might not get everything right but DK has done a good job so far and trying to pretend he hasn't is ridiculous, particularly when compared to the likes of McGinnity, Robinson, Ranson, Dulieu & Fisher who preceded him.

I don't think he would have been sold to be honest, not because SISU wouldn't want to but he and his agent by that stage had a plan in place and that involved him moving to Europe that summer.

Hardly surprising as they both managed hedge funds - Coleman’s brother and King controlled a hedge fund

The only 2 good things SISU did for our club was

1) Go with their tale between their legs and get Mark Robins back

2) Sell up

End of debate. They were a stain on our great club and incompitent of running a football club.

Fuck Seppala. Fuck fishface. Fuck One Eyed Igwe, Fuck Ken Deluded and Fuck Txt a Sub

I would Happily wipe King Dougs bottom every morning for where we are now.

I think it's fair to say that the club was in a better position when DK took over than it had been 5 or 6 years before (though that's not saying much).

I think he's said that he wouldn't have been interested given the state of the club a few years before, which partly reinforces the point and partly suggests that it was good business acumen rather than just luck to arrive at that time.

Either way, if the implication of your post is that our progress since he took over is primarily down to luck, then I think that's a stretch worthy of Elastic Man (one for any fans of old DC comics). If you weren't implying that, my apologies.

In my view, DK's decisions since he took over have been very good. We've gone from scrappy amateurs, punching above our weight, to a serious club with what appears to be a solid organisation behind the scenes.

From a training ground that doesn't have to be hidden from new signings until the ink on the contract is dry, to serious people with impressive backgrounds running the non-football side of things rather than Dave Boddy trying to do everything on his own, with a bit of help from some wealthy fans.

To pass off buying the ground - and so in my view, securing the future of the club - as "he's mortgaged the ground by dint of not being SISU" seems particularly unfair.

Anyway, let's stuff Leciester!!

He didn't have £50m in fees or prize money so you're undermining your argument with exaggerations. We spent more than we received.

We have a squad of our own that's been stable for three seasons. Expect that's the first time we've been in that position since relegation.

Did he buy at a good time? Yeah, and he's capitalised. Did MR and Sisu get lucky that Adi stayed when Taylor fell ill? that MR was available again?

As much as people hated Fisher, you are correct

Slade was Mark Venus' man, Fisher stepped in sacked him and reappointed Robins - Venus then resigned

We only didn’t have a stable squad under Robins because we kept getting promoted!

Are you seriously comparing buying a championship club with a free £40m on the brink of promotion with Sisu how many years into their tenure? It’s apples and oranges. By any metric he’s a very lucky owner. It’s rare you pick up clubs in the state we were in for the price he did.
