Summed up a chunk of our supporters at the moment. Desperate to throw someone under the bus after a wobble, it was kings turn this week… even though since the end of last season hes kept hold of all our best players, brought in the best keeper in the league/added to the squad, bought the stadium and overseen a team that’s been top of the league all season

Said it before, other supporters would piss themselves if they saw some of the shit on here

Totally agree. Wright/Brau/Bassette/Simms, etc have all been or are apparently shit. Think the way some speak of our players is out of order

Don't always need better, just someone who adds compensation and cover. That can be enough to raise standards further sometimes. Currently Jay must feel like he's undroppable, Brau is a wingback and Bidders is a old school LB we have nobody who could take his place realistically.

I was going to suggest Cirkin the other day, but he's started Sunderland's last 2 games so I don't think he'll be available.

Its damning that i would rather play KKH at left back or LWB than Bidwell or Brau.

Saying that...wpukdnt let Bidwell go untill we know full extend of KKH injury...as hes first choice cover for both full backs in my eyes.

I’d lik a different profile. They are both technically good but undersized and unathletic.

Our strikers as a trio have something like 27 goals in the league and its early Jan thats crazy.

Yet we have slaughtered them at times. No one can touch that figure in this league.

Totally agree, was never a huge fan, but he has come on leaps and bounds since FL has been here. A big part of why we are top of the league.

But better than Bidwell/Brau. Therefore, more competition and more chamce of rotation/rest. The reason pur form has dipped so badly, is because outside our starting 11 we're pretty poor bat 1 or 2 players. With injuries and illness we've had to flog the 11 or 12 players that are good enough. After that youre down to Andrews, Brau, Perry. Good enough for 5 mins at the end of a game, but nowhere near good enough to rotate and rest.

I mean that sounds ideal then someone who can slot in as a direct replacement with minimal alteration to our style of play. Anyhow he's 5'11" so hardly undersized for a fullback and a positive giant compared to Dasilva

From what I’ve seen he’s a similar player, ideally if we are signing another fullback I’d like someone better physically and defensively.

But are United going to remove him from somewhere he starts to send him somewhere he would be a back up?

Sunderland have had two left backs at AFCON. That’s why he started. The AFCON chaps got knocked out, so, he’s down the pecking order again once they’re back.

would be an ace signing!!!

Also United aren’t going to take him out of sheff Wed where he’s playing every week to be a back up here.

A backup and a player who rotates is totally different.

He will be here to play in games where Da Silva needs resting and vice versa, and games where his profile better matches the opposition.

I'm sure United would rather him be at a team who are at the top of the league playing better football

Again read my comment to David.

This forum has a weird obsession with players coming in to be "backups" when they wouldnt

Have spurs or palace sent us Esse or Yang as "backups".

Sure they would if they backed his ability why not test him at a higher standard? Jays been good this season but has had literally no realistic competition.

I agree on this, we need rotation options not players who are obviously backup because the drop off is so severe.

But playing when someone needs resting is being the back up. JDS is a better player at this stage so he just isn't going to play that much.

United will want him to be at a team where he starts every week and if he does leave Wednesday that is the type of club he will go to.

But he would be the back up as he's not as good at this stage of his career as JDS who has been really. really good.

Amass is simply not likely.

This! We have been guilty of running players on empty for multiple seasons now because we either have no options or the option we have aren't the right fit. Top teams can rotate players we need to start aspiring to that level.

Imagine being able to tell EMC to have 60 at full pelt and still have Yang to come in fresh or vice versa, it's going to be a huge bonus for us.

Amass is a top prospect and had been a stand out player in a team that has struggled massively. He could be a great option

Yes, but United would want him to start every week which isn't going to happen here. JDS has been one of the best players in the team that are top of the league. We aren't going to be bringing in a new first LB and JDS will start most games, yes a new LB would be nice but I can't see it being Amass as he wouldn't get the games United would want.

One of my mates works with his best mate.

I never post these, so before you all jump on it….

he’s open to it and we have made approach but that’s all I know.

Take your cov tinted glasses off, there is a lot of championship interest in him. Teams like Stoke where he will be an instant first choice. Dress it up how you like but they would rather he’s playing week in week out.

Exactly, Yang Min was a rotational option who played about as much for Pompey as Amass would for us and to get him we had to promise Spurs he'd play more than that.

Also as you say plenty of teams would take him as a start every week LB.
