Nothing wrong with current points process. It's the fairest way of prioritising away tickets.

I agree with a points system as a means of prioritising. If a person has attended a lot of games, then that person should have a better chance of getting a ticket than someone who has not. Not sure about allowing two tickets to each supporter for big games though, as it's open to abuse, either being resold or you end up with someone giving their extra ticket to someone who doesn't even follow Coventry. If you have people you go to games with regularly, they'll have points and you can add them to your network and get seats together that way.

I can see the argument for having at least a small number of tickets going to ballot, as otherwise access to away tickets could become a closed shop, but that would only really be a big issue if we were PL and even then would not necessarily mean fans would get tickets ahead of those just wanting to see the big club.

Millwall we sold 1900 tickets out of 3000 issued and you could pay on the gate on the day.
Reading only sold out when it went on general sale.
Blackpool was always going to out quickly as we haven’t played there on a weekend for years even then there were 1300 tickets available when it hit down to 400 pts and only sold out when it went on general sale and even then we were given an additional 300 tickets.
Swansea didn’t sell out until it went on general sale.
QPR sold out at ST holders level with less than 400 pts and
Middlesbrough sold out after being offered to those with less than 500 pts.
I can’t see what the issue was for anyone with 600 pts.
The only match it severely impacted on other than Luton because of numbers was the play off semi final.

Irrespective of Saturday’s result, do we think the club will introduce random balloting for a specific number of away tickets for next season? I know some clubs do this to ensure others who want to build up loyalty points have a chance to do so.

I bought a house this season so didn’t renew my ST for the first time, so I’m on 600 odd points with the renewal. Clearly a bad call with bad timing now, but hoping a fair system is established that rightfully prioritises those who’ve committed all their time to going to the most games but then also giving opportunities to lifelong fans who are still on a decent enough amount of points in recent times but will struggle for away tickets if we go up a league or continue to challenge next season.

Don’t quite see how those supporters, like myself, can improve their situation if the current system remains, as the cut off point is only going to continue to rise.

Thoughts?

No I don’t think they will introduce random ballots and personally I don’t think they need to.
We only sold out 11 of the 23 matches.
On 600 pts you would have missed Luton, possibly WBA.
The only other match you would have missed was to play off semi final away.
So your point about not being able to improve your situation is wrong.

The point system need’s looking at .
I have 900 points and struggle to get away tickets .
I also live 137 miles away from cov so every home game is ( away ) .
mid week games away from cov depending where they are is nigh on impossible to make .
My point is those with the most points will always get priority over others which is fair one way but that gives no one else a chance for tickets if they’re limited.
So some kind of system that’s fair to all needs to be looked at .

Sounds like you want a system that suits you not one that is fair.

It actually looks like he had plenty of opportunity to buy tickets for the games he mentioned but just chose not to… Not quite sure what his complaint is??

I’m still not sure what the issue is? It looks like you’ve had the opportunity to get tickets for any game, bar Luton and the play off game at Boro.

"IF" we get promoted and you're already on 900 points and plan to get a ST next season you are guaranteed an away ticket for every game except probably Fulham, Brentford & Bournemouth. As most regular away dayers have probably been to these recently and with the cost of everything else you might even get a chance on those. I really don't get your issue especially as you don't appear to go away much now anyway.

My point is there’s only so many tickets available and yes I should have enough points for the games . Yet none season ticket holders get tickets before me through supporters clubs .
This should be stopped and looked into !

So, your actual issue is with supporters clubs and not the fact that you can’t get tickets when clearly you have been able to?.

I should probably be in the top bracket for most games next year but I just believe in fairness. Some huge fans just simply can’t afford to get to every away game even though they would sacrifice anything to. They should have the opportunity to go to the few games they can afford to.

It should obviously be stacked heavily in the favour of the big pointers but not exclusively is my opinion.

I'm not sure allocating tickets on the basis of BMI is really that fair, even though I'd probably do OK

It's OK because I was assured by the club that supporters clubs follow all priority guidelines...oh hang on...
