I don’t think anyone on this forum falls into this category. What annoys me is the plastic fans who support PL teams who are from Cov but seem to have an interest in attending the big games.

I dunno, there's seasons I've done more away than home. I don't even mind people coming out for big games either, but somewhere you have to accept it may be circumstance, but that knocks you down the priority.

I'm assuming you're quite low for example!

I understand why you say and feel that. But I also know long standing fans, who have also travelled all over the country when we were lucky if there were two coaches following us, who through work and personal circumstances; a season ticket just isn't viable.

There are genuine fans whose attendance is restricted - like one Saturday off a month. Who have been locked out of getting away tickets. Some used to go to more away than home games in a season.

The 'glory hunter', 'bandwagon jumper' tags, are insensitive, insulting and over used cliches.

I would likely also miss out on a lot of games with not even 1000 points, but I have no problem with that. It’s the only fair way and especially as we will very likely only be there for one season if we make it.

This is a genuine issue. the points were very weighted toward ST holders, with the first one or two seasons not even counting away games. so people that had gone to every away game fell below those and may get frozen out of 'better' away games.

That should start to even out though as the seasons go on.

I know Man Utd have a balloting system in place but they must have 50,000 STH with lots having them for 20, 30 or 40 years. It makes more sense to ballot the away tickets & will be less stressful & time consuming for the fans. We are nowhere near to that & it really isnt something we should be looking at.

On this note. Can anyone explain why I’ve got 530 points having had a ST the last three years as well as a few home cup games. Yet my children who have had a ST with me, but not the cup games, have more points?

I have been a supporter home and a few away each season for around 50 years, there was a small period of around 3 years - Babies born , crippling mortgage etc when i couldnt afford games . The Forest semi final was in that period, but i never at one point felt a sense of entitlement for that (or the final if we got there) I think you have to accept tickets are limited, and so have to be allocated to your most loyal customers (and unfortunately that means the ones who put the money into the club)

Not sure the original poster deserved such a backlash. He only suggested an idea (which many other clubs already enforce). This forum really has gone downhill in the last few years the way that we all talk to each other.

FWIW I’m probably in the top tier bracket but I’d be happy for a system where people who aren’t as fortunate as me (being able to afford lots of away games) but just as big a fan, get a chance of the odd away ticket here and there.

Maybe top catagory have a ballot for 70% of the allocation, second catagory for 20% of the allocation and bottom cat for 10% of the allocation.

It would mean over the season that there would be a slightly bigger spread of people getting to go rather than just a shut out to the same 2K every week

It was hardly a backlash, others gave their opinions and reasons why they disagreed.

I'm on 730pts....and would never expect to take an away game ticket in front of someone with more points whatever the reason.
Points approach is fair and if you want to build up points like I'm trying to do then try midweek games. Wigan and Blackburn away both midweek and 20 points. If you can't do midweek then try the larger allocation away days. If you can't do that then it is, what it is.

That's it. Midweek games are 20 points. Also, the Burton game had extra points.

If you look in your account history you can filter on “points” and see exactly what has been awarded for last season, plus the balance they gave you in July 2022 (which covered the 3 previous seasons). From that you can see if the mistakes have happened this season, or if they have given you the right starting balance when they kicked off the scheme. I’ve checked mine that way, and it’s accurate to within 30 points (in my favour). Depending when you bought 22/23 season ticket, the 230 points for that will either be in the starting balance or you’ll see a line item in the history for it.

Just permanently ban the drunks and the cokeheads and we'd have more than enough for fans who want to build up their points.

The point system need’s looking at .
I have 900 points and struggle to get away tickets .
I also live 137 miles away from cov so every home game is ( away ) .
mid week games away from cov depending where they are is nigh on impossible to make .
My point is those with the most points will always get priority over others which is fair one way but that gives no one else a chance for tickets if they’re limited.
So some kind of system that’s fair to all needs to be looked at .

Seems I’ve got nothing from before last season. Was award 460 points which must be this and last seasons STs as they’re the only ones that showed in my history. will have to log into the kids and see what theirs says.

My loyalty points for the previous three seasons were added on 12th July. I presume that was the same for all season ticket holders.

I didn’t have a ST in the Brum L1 campaign, I had the “ST” first season up and last season though. So how many points should I have? 230 a season?

Out of interest which games have you struggled for? In my mind there has only been like 2 or 3 games all season that you wouldn't have got tickets for (could be wrong with that).

Here's mine. You should have something similar, minus Brum

This is from the original CCFC article last summer:

I have 1510 at the moment. I haven't renewed as I want the standard price ST. I guess I will lose 270 points from 19/20 and then gain 230 for 23/24, so start the season with 1470.

EDIT: I will lose 270 points from 19/20, plus other accrued during that season.

They did, and I didn’t get the points from Burton because I bought on the day and they didn’t give any receipts. C’est la vie

Yeah I’m missing a couple of hundred points then. Is there any way to get that sorted?

Why do people keep repeating this shite. There has been plenty of games to build points up this season.

I started this season on 950 points and I now have 1570 (with next year's ST points just added). I live over 100miles away from Coventry. I understand im at a point in my life where I am able to commit to more games than others, whether its because of time or money, and thats fine we all have stuff going on no one judging you. But saying that it's a closed shop on tickets is bollocks. You may not be able to go because of personal stuff but its not because you can't build up points.

I think points is great, but that needs sorting. It's a bit like Tesco and Sainsburys, where you can go to the service desk and get points added manually if something has gone awry.

I presume every ticket has a unique identifier, so it's not beyond the realms of possibility that CCFC can manually add points to a ST if fans provide proof of purchase.
