Whilst SISU are still in charge we will never progress to higher than where we are now. If we have serious ambitions to progress beyond a lower mid table championship club they must go. If they are not going to back the best manager we've had since the 60s after everything he's done I think it's pretty clear that they do not care about the club. Robins knows the constraints and I'm sure he won't be asking for much - just a little extra to help secure one or two key signings. The last 4 seasons have taken the spotlight off SISU thanks to Robins but they have not all of a sudden become good owners who care about the success of the club like some think. Anyone who thinks we can move forward with this lot in charge is frankly deluded. We need rid of them before we end up back in league one which will happen within a few years.

Honestly we’ve gone the entire season without Covid-19 affected the team-not that bad of happens for 10 days at the start of preseason.

Also wait until transfer window closes before piling on judgements on budget and transfers. There’s a hell of a lot of time yet to get players in-whether on loan or permanent.

We’ve got the majority of the same squad as last year and they stayed up.

We’ve added a decent keeper and a striker both with Championship pedigree already.

Yes we’ve missed out on players we all wanted but it’s not the end of the fuckin world.

Before last year not one of us had really heard of Ostigard but he came in and did a fantastic job.

Plenty more players out there that are just as good if not better.

Be patient- ffs!

Even if we did lose out for the sake of a couple of grand here or there, that may not be the primary factor of us losing out. For instance with regards to Collins and perhaps Walsh, couldn't it be more down to the fact that they've joined Cardiff and Swansea respectively because both clubs are likely to be in and around the play-offs next season?

That's a slightly more attractive prospect than joining a club who's likely to be in relegation battle.

I’m also convinced we’d have signed James had Pearson not been involved. He’s gone to a manager who he trusts, and clearly has a long standing relationship with.

At this level recruitment will be ridiculously competitive. I have no doubt we will probably miss out on more players than we have in previous years but I'm sure this is the case for all Championship clubs. Short of splashing millions of pounds... Which many sides do, and have done very unsuccessfully... I would say the biggest recruitment opportunity is loans. None of our loans have been revealed yet and I am hopeful these loans will improve us no end again. With the three year deals we have handed out in recent years and the drastically improved recruitment we are in a fortunate position where the squad doesn't need overhauling.

So much over reacting and unnecessary panic. We have made 3 signings with I'm sure several more to come; both Permanent and Loans.
The core group is exactly the same and we haven't lost anyone of note. Many of our players will be better from the experience last season and will grow again.
There are so many clubs who aren't signing loads of players, we are trying to shop at a different level to the likes of Hull, Blackpool etc who snapped up a load of players early on. But as I've said before very few of them would I have actually have wanted to come here.

We all know the areas we need new players to come in, LWB, CB and midfield but it's the 9th July, our season starts 5 weeks on Sunday, so there is plenty of time.
Robins is probably frustrated to not get James, but I also am not too disappointed in the slightest if we did miss out on Collins in all honesty.

I have faith in Boddy, Robins and the club to give us a stronger squad come the 8th August than we ended past season with.

We have lost our best defender (ostigard), only left back (Mccallum), best midfielder (James) and best athlete with the best technique (biamou).

I'm not worried yet, but I do understand the feeling of nerves.

There's clearly a Covid issue in the camp and it doesn't take a genius to work out who are the ones affected. Let's just cool off for a week or so and let them recover. We can see where we are at after that.

You can be assured I will be one of the first to panic if it comes to it. That season when we had Mowbray for the summer transfer window second year round has left me with some PTSD I think.

Yes Good point and James has gone which is disappointing, would loved to have signed him.
Ostigard is still available as is McCallum and thinking about it so is Biamou so we would get him back as well!

We need to bring back or suitably replace James, Ostigard, McCallum but I believe we will.

If MR has been denied 1st choice targets like James and Paterson for sake of a few quid then we cant just stick our head in the sand and pretend it doesn't matter.

If I'd been told in April that Sheaf/Viktor/Bright would be announced as 3 of first 5 summer signings i wouldn't be leaping around tbh.

I hope it all comes good in the end

The longer the wind up about bright goes on makes it ,it become less likely as for Gyo it's another strange one as reported on here he signed earlier in the week, who knows.think robins will have more bodies in before the start of the season.
I do feel like something has gone pear shape and Covid has complicated matters.

Any inkling on if it could happen today Better Days? To be honest, I am absolutely bored shitless at work and just looking for any distraction. A signing and new kit would brighten the day up somewhat.

Tbh I try to be a bit circumspect on certain issues as I would never post anything publicly that might hurt the club
In this case I think it's fairly common knowledge that Bright and Viktor are now with us
In normal circumstances they would have been announced earlier this week but the covid outbreak has completely disrupted things
There are lots of urgent things the management team are having to concentrate on like the Leamington game and whether the Spain training camp can go ahead for example
And we must be having to test everyone at the club daily
I'm afraid that media matters have had to take a back seat for the moment

Thanks Better Days. There are a number of us that have heard that Bright has been training with the squad, so everyone can expect an announcement, as and when the club are in a better place.

Given the high number of Covid cases across the west midlands at the moment, I am starting to worry that this will not be the last time the clubs preparations are affected. If we lose the Spain training camp, which must be a key part of bonding and developing the squad for the season, MR and the coaching staff will be trying to play catch up for the start of the season.

This is likely to be happening all over the country
Look at the figures from the ONS today
It's likely that the majority of clubs are going to be affected

Problem is if we don't sign some quality player's for this season, then by the time they get into the first team we could be back in Div 1.

Surely it's not unusual for free agents to train with a club. It's like a mini-trial. They don't always sign.

I was replying to someone implying he would walk. Why on earth would he? The paradox is new owners always get new managers - so of course he wants them to stay
